was around about 3 yeARS Ago and while it still sucked, at least there were interesting people with knowledge and some sort of personal style (even if that personal style was wack)....there were fash design students, poet, trips whose names i forget but they were at the very least funny, and shit like that....nowadays......fucking boring and nobody who is passionate about fash is likely to waste more than 15 min on this sheeeet....i stop by every 6-12 mo and am disappointed each time

I always lurk for inspo threads. I like lunar- and terrorcore threads and I'm specially in love with postpunk style currently. Those threads just give me good ideas to add to my own designs.

/fa/ never really went above and beyond when it came to fashion. Every oldfag that still even slightly visits knows it, and every oldfag that did know it moved to SuFu and SZ, and then those communities got condensed and moved into tighter knit and more obscure ones. Despite the guise that /fa/ put on that it had a lot of taste, a lot of the style here still resonated from the hellhole of YesStyle. I think the problem with most of the posters here nowadays and what has always been a problem with this board, and that is the obsession with fashion and aesthetics to substitute personality and living, not the genuine interest in fashion that supplements being interested in the medium that allows a board to truly thrive.

/fa/ wants to believe it is high and mighty, however, WDYWT threads have scraped nothing but the absolute bottom of the barrel for years now. The thread's cycle's alone prevent quality discussion from entering the threads. Not only that, but W2C threads have followed the same system, Inspo threads, etc. They're all devoid of quality discussion and have been for years.

That's actually not true. Thinspo is actually one of the biggest reasons why this board is in decline. The only general here that is tolerable is the SkinCare. Thinspo is what psychotic freaks from /soc/ get tricked into participating because it stems from the same problems I mentioned earlier. I would disagree in this instance. This comes back to the lack of genuine interest in fashion. A very distorted fashion view has been heralded here in favor of Rick Owens, Raf, Boris, CCP, but /fa/ has consistently overlooked the genuine quality of designers outside of the elite scope. Money is not the issue, because if you learned anything from WDYWT over time, you would notice that some of the most expensive shoppers had easily some of the most gaudy and tasteless fits.

I had came back to /fa/ this summer after leaving in 2014/15 And I couldn't find any cool threads like i had previously mentioned namely lunarcore threads, cause they were always my favorite, so I figured "fuck it" I'll make a thread myself and see what happens,

and slowly but surely over the course of this summer and fall and winter, the threads started to slowly get bigger and last longer, and new tripfags started popping up since they were regular anons that got tired of explaining which post was theirs, and new fits and designs and sketches started popping up and discussions about styling and pieces and w2c and color pallets were commonplace

Hell I know quite a few anons that stumbled into those threads just because they were curious and/or oldfags that remembered old /fa/ and wanted to check the threads out and thought it was cool or neat that our little niche community was slowly being rebuilt

And this all happened in part because I was bored and wanted to see one of my favorite threads come back, and after a while it did, even poet came back

luckily I already have a sewing machine, I just need fabric and to make full sized patterns, I have some old 1940s/50s Canada mail canvas bags that I was thinking of making into a bomber like the Japanese mail bag jacket, or cargo pants, or sewing them onto some converse shoes and turning them into canvas cargo boots

Anyways that's why it's easier to just make ideas and sketches right now to liven up threads
