Thinking of copping some mainline Rick Owens sock boots to break into the style. Would it be acceptable to pair them with more normie clothing, like jeans or trousers?

Definitely not - Rick is definitely something you need to invest alot in to work.
Something like the sock boots are probably the hardest sell but if you get something like the runners it would be much easier cause they follow somewhat traditional sneaker styles.

said if you want to wear it with regular clothing. You can mix the sock boots up with other brands than just Rick but it's gonna look very similar.
