Anyway, I love the notion of redefining it. It's what I want the most, actually. The look has to mean different things to different people. If anything, once people start seeking out and normalizing futurist fits that speak to them, then THAT is when this is really gonna take off.

Take pieces of a million inspo shots, and make your own ball of wax.

right there! The important thing, tho? it's that I KNOW I look right, and I look right to me. I have to be confident enough to own the outfit. Funny you should lay it out like that, I'm genuinely grateful. You get it - it's really something that the most confident people I know have been drawn to, and these IRL friends have been showing me their own takes on the look for over a year now. My friend J likes to accentuate the pilot aspects, and the look came into his life at the perfect time, right as his Hip Hop producing career was gaining speed.

That's meant that he's used the look to refine how *he* looks at himself. Last time I visited the kid he was rocking good posture, walking everywhere in a straight unbroken line and generally just looking more bad ass than he already did. Which, for reasons I won't discuss, was impressive.

My friend A's high end but non-descript outfits, combined with her looks, made her journey through life... annoying at best. First time we hung out, dudes would just stare, or be rude AF, or whatever. I don't know why she decided to go for this, but she called me one day, and when I came by a few hours late she had the SICK thin blue bomber, Y3's of some sort in white, and pilot's pant's tailored, with a strange nicholas K thingy as her top. When we left the house, I noticed right away - nobody was staring. They were being polite, in many ways. She said she was feeling, in her words, "capable". Capable in a new way.

These were already pretty chill cats, ofc - they were already set apart from people by their beauty or lack of fear or whatever - The act of constructing their image and walking through the cold world proudly was suddenly possible, as was was the feeling that came when they knew they had that power.

People grow and change.

I think that - and this is some overthinking - social structures and the masses get us wanting to fit in, to fly under the radar. We construct looks and fits that blend into the fabric of everything around us.

But by choosing to stand out, we self-actualize a bit. We become less afraid & more audacious - all around. This is a GOOD experience to have, it's like getting on a dance floor the first time and loving it despite the fear of "looking stupid" to the plebes. We have a good time, and we realize that we have more freedom to do whatever we want than we thought we did.

I'm purposely going through many variations on the archetypes that define futurist pioneers in fiction and film and dumping those archetypes out, specifically going for more civillian roles and esoteric imagery that requires legwork on the part of any aspiring space autists,
I want people to see stuff that inspires & requires.... the would-be's to go get THEIR visions and put 'em on the table. I wanna see more IRL garments, mos def, but I came to the table with this shit.

I don't think the look should be distant and unapproachable to people. They should feel free to make it theirs alone.

This is good, you have room for one more item, too! just a little bit odd this item should be. It should throw all the other items a little outta whack. Reframe them.

Hands outta pockets, better lighting, let that sweater fall!
Sometimes, when I know I'm gonna wear a certain sweater, I soak it cold and use weight to stretch its length until it dries. works with 100% cotton and wool. The it just falls a **little lower**... Just enough to be cool but sliiiiightly off from 'normal'.

>implying being here in 2006 is newfag..

Even if it was meant to be a meme, ever since i was a kid I always wanted to dress this way and wondered why my plebian towns and cities and country didn't dress like the F U T U R E, and it always bothered me how far behind society was with fashion, and how there hadn't been much of a change in decades upon decades of it

There are visions of what society is supposed to look like back in the 50s & 60s, and even in sci-fi from the 80s and we're sadly far from it..

And at the end of the day I like it and it's one of the few styles that makes me excited to do DiY and make projects and designs and digging through sites and thrifts shops, looking at space history and sci-fi books and movies and games it's a whole fun project or hobby.

Idk, I like what I like and at an age where I'm normally bored with fashion, and this makes me excited to make things

Even today I was thinking about finding some thicc canvas sheets and making some cheap canvas shoes into boots and making thicc velcro straps instead of laces and cargo pockets and zippers and god knows what

Same. I really need to find some sick funnel neck hoodie. Specifically one where the hood and neck are two separate things. Something like the character on the right there.

Consider fabric spray dye!

You can fade and dust and effect and distress that jacket! It was only 2 bucks, take the risk!or don't.

I would leather dye them even whiter, and then hand paint the buckles. Definitely go for it. Even without that it's a great shape.

I know it sez womens, but it's plus size, 17 dollars and could be tailored for peanuts. you can also measure yourself.

But it's longer than anything standard, still slim, and the funnel is made to stay up!

thanks for the feedback.

Like i said in my post this is just a lunar inspired fit. Basically taking the tucked in pants high boots and dirtied/distressed elements. it was never intended as a lunarfit. also the picture is like 2 years old lol. i just wanted to contribute a fit to the thread. the fit isn't supposed to be Lunarcore. I explained in my post i wear the lunarcore silhouette mostly everyday but don't follow the color pallet. anymore. I have loads of cargo pants but those diesel jeans i think match the outfit. Also try and imagine it without the bag.

I wouldn't go earthtone pants with this fit ever personally. Too matchy. I have navy blue cargo pants I have worn with that jacket with brown boots and it looks dope.

The next time I wear an actual 100% lunar fit I will take a good posed pic and post it.

right on, although i'm more a fan of quilting or ribbing (as they evoke spacesuits)...i am curious what the appeal of waffle knit is for you? i agree it is presents a nice contrast of textures and it feels pretty good, but i'm having a hard time placing waffle knit in a futuristic context. mesh i could see, but waffle knit is a hard one for me. im just newer to this and want to learn

I tend to associate waffle knit thermals with workwear (Not mfa workwear. Like actual construction workers.) and I really like the dirty, used future take on lunarcore, so it works in my head. Plus, they are pretty standard pieces of clothing so that helps keep things grounded.

Quilting and ribbing definitely get the point across, though. Speaking of... just copped this shirt recently. Haven't used it in a fit yet.

Just started watching a Lunar show called
"EARTH 2" seems pretty cool, occasional cool fit, very ALIEN sci-fi
Here's a brief synopsis

>Two centuries in the future, when pollution has forced humans to abandon Earth in favor of cramped space stations, scientist Devon Adair hijacks a spacecraft and sets out with a band of followers in search of another planet that will offer a brighter, more normal future to children like her son, Ulysses. Joining Devon and Ulysses are mechanic John Danziger and his daughter, True; team physician Julia Heller, who has her own secret agenda; Alonzo Solace, a pilot; Yale, a cyborg; and Morgan, a craven government agent, and his wife, Bess. The voyagers find their planet, but their ship crash-lands on the wrong side of the globe, forcing them to attempt an arduous and dangerous trek to their ultimate destination, New Pacifica.

You can, the only thing that might be "larpy" is the scarf, even though i love shemaghs, but if it's fall or winter then it's not a big deal since it's cold and you can Just use it as an actual scarf

It's funny just the other day in mid west Canada at Wal-Mart I saw 2 guys dressed as stereo typical tv cowboys, with black and red shemaghs

So if grown ass hicks in the mid west of Canada and Southern states of U.S. can larp as fucking cowboys with tacticool scarves then i dont see why the hell i cant dress like a space boii.

Well I finally had a day off and figured what the hell id throw on a quick fit

I usually just post inspo and drawings since I have very little pieces right now, and half of my stuff I need to tailor and DiY myself, but I figured since I have my free sand biker denim and boots, and an absolute SHITLOAD of cheap lunar vests I got thrift, I figured this place could use some sort of irl fits.

Bare in mind I have hardly any actual lunar pieces since I'm broke and just used the vest I copped at a thrift shop with some free sand biker pants and my cheap aliexpress field boots and a black ribbed t-shirt to help break up all the white and sand colors

I really like this fit on you. I could never pull it myself, being withered from years in freefall and malnourished at best, but you, sir, have got a combo of garments that does ya justice.

You could switch out for different color tees, and I always recommend taking the bottom hem out of a tee with a seam ripper (always), but that inconsequential. Huzzah and Kudos, as they say.

You should surely have enough to get a bag of mass gainer, a cheap gym pass, and some chicken & veggies??

Granted I'm a ThiccBoii and need to lose weight again and get lean

When I was super broke I would only eat eggs and toast for breakfast and meatballs/beef and veggies and a fuck ton of rice for lupper since it was cheap

Lost like 30lbs in 2 months

Also I need to get more olive/sand/grey shirts and sweaters

I LITERALLY have liek 30 something or more black t shirts and half of them don't fit anymore so I might just start sewing them together and make sweater t shirts or some weird lunar stitching design like you've might have seen in my old drawings or bleach them or something

.

....."Someone said you should paint the edges brown and it's an excellent idea. But I have an 'extreme' option that is called (at least in Mexico) "dirty water". You have to dissolve a little amount of white or gray acrylic paint in a bucket of water (see where I'm going?) Now get a volunteer to wear the costume and pour the water over him/her. let the costume dry to air. Keeping it on as it dries would give the best effect. Once it is dry, the clear sections will give the impression of color fading off from wrinkles."

I agree that the jeans are the weak point in that fit but saying "throw out everything denim" seems very extreme. It's just a fabric. It can look nice or shitty depending on the garment.

I don't think indigo denim belongs in a lunarcore fit, but while not lunar itself, I think a gray denim jacket would look pretty fucking stellar (haha) over some of the lunar fits on here, preserving the whole space trucker look while adding a bit of normality to tone down the cosplay vibe.

Besides, if I spend 600 on a jacket I don't want text up on that shite. I want people's memories of the original to be stirred, not shaken. Everything looks cheap, nothing first well since you are a manlet and the coordination is terrible.

Cringe. Lose weight, fix your hair, ditch the earring. You look genuinely gay and the clothes are Zara-tier trash.

love this one. i think the knit gives off a shabby vibe that feels right at home with the rest of the outfit

my beef with denim is that cotton is a heritage textile and too familiar to be interesting on its own. i'd throw out anything blue or indigo, again too much historical baggage for a forward looking style such as this

>>13009672
this looks great. and to those comments about age: yeah i wont wear this everyday to work but you look comfortable in your clothes and literate in your style and influences and that's really what ultimately garners genuine respect. im 32 and see soulless bro uniforms all day around the city. utterly insipid. getting dressed by GQ only says "i like to dress for other people rather than myself".

>>13010943
manlet? poet always looked kind of tall to me. he's thin enough that, without anything to compare to for a height estimation, i'd guess he was far from a manlet. anyway the rest of your opinion sucks lol

Thanks man, I really appreciate that. Not sure where people got that I'm in my 30s though.

Haha I usually hate yellow too, but I saw the last jedi and all those rebels in yellow flight suits looked really cool to me so I figured I'd try it out.

I'm pretty sure the roving shit talking anons do what they do because they don't have any actual ideas or fits to contribute but they still want to be involved with the board. I'll be blown away the day one actually posts a fit.

I'm in the middle of trying to lose weight again
Haven't been watching my eating and haven't had a gym in a yr.
Would like to get lean again.

I like my hair and I like doing it up in many different ways like messy or spikey or combed over or slicked back etc etc, id like to be a barber some day

And idk how my clothes are "zara" trash, I literally got my sand biker pants for free and are the closest thing I have to lunar pants, and my boots are aliexpress specials, and my vest is a 1970s thrift find, I was just trying on a cargo pocketed hoodie and figured this place hardly ever has actual fits and figured I'd contribute, but thnx for the vague insulting critique I guess lol here's your (You)

What do you guys think of a top like this? It's ribbed if you can't tell. I really only have plain t-shirts for tops so my outfits always look really bottom heavy. Damn southern weather.
