they need to communicate an idea/theme, all the pieces need to make sense with this theme and each individual piece needs to work well with all the other pieces. The theme needs to make sense in the environment it is going to be in, the quality and sense of price of each piece needs to be in-line with the theme. Most importantly all of this needs to be organised in a way so it allows the person to make the most of the outfit to express the theme.
