I think you're building it up a bit much. Heirloom sort of implies that it's a piece that's been passed down from generation to generation. He said he's inherited it from a relative and it's a piece from the 60's, so anon is obviously only the second owner. I don't see a problem selling it. So what, uncle Jim left you his rolex because he wanted to give a little something to all of his nieces and nephews. Unfortunately it's a straight up dress watch so it's not versatile and anon will prob never wear it. I'd say sell it and buy something that can be your own cherished piece that you can pass down.

Not him, but it’s mostly about the appeal of having a tiny, highly engineered bit of machinery on your wrist. Watches are not just used as tools, but also as pieces of jewelry. It’s nice to wind or adjust the watch, maybe see the movement through the caseback etc.

On a practical level quartz is definitely better, it’s cheaper, more accurate and allows for lighter, thinner watches. It does however require maintenance somewhat more often (as well as having a shit resale price ofc)

Anyways, nothing wrong with going with a high end quartz movement if you feel that you need the accuracy, many higher end watchmakers have some quartz watches with a very high accuracy of less than 10 seconds per year.

Alternatively go with a spring drive watch, which combines the two. It has a high accuracy due to using a quartz crystal, but a mechanical movement and does not require batteries.

The only acceptable zeitwerk is the minute repeater.

Honestly with a zeitwerk - what are you trying to say? They're fairly large and out of proportion. Too big and busy for formal events, too brilliantly finished for casual. An 1815 or 1 would be preferred.

Other digitals are also right out.

$1000 is a bit of an awkwards value. There’s lots around $300-500 and around $1600-2100, but inbetween is not a typical price point for watches.

Imo it would be best to get the Orient, use it for a few years and save up a little on the side and then get a $1500-2000 watch that you actually really like

I’ve got pic related, which weighs 68 grams according to the Tissot website, so it’s very light. I don't see what you're saying about the dial, its the quartz version, hence the lack of chronometer.

Bought this instead of a grand seiko and decided to put the left over money towards a root beer gmt for next year. Love a good vintage chrono.

What watches attract women's attention?

More clout than you I suppose. The other poster has already said it's the quartz version, so I don't know why you're bringing up the auto model

Not him but im pretty sure that's not what he was arguing about. Look at the date window of the two models.
I havn't responded to this nonsense untill now because it feels like obvious bait but please stop crapping up the thread with this. You seem quite clearly wrong.

Did you even read what i wrote? Youre insane dude. W/e... stay delusional.

women really dont care at all whats on your wrist. Just get a decently sized dress watch that fits your outfits and be done with trying to attract women. Overall physique matters much more
