First time poster. Does /fa/ have tips for styling men's hair?

I have fine medium length dyed black hair. I'm trying to job search and I think I'd have more success if my appearance was more attractive. I want to start taking better shape of my hair and you guys seem like one of the most relevant boards. Does gel help at all? I'm pretty clueless to this sort of thing.
