I normally don't recommend this but going full tech-ninja would help: especially if you get a prosthetic that uses more metal instead of plastic. If you can get something that's powered and not just mechanical one day then that's even better. You'll technically be a cyborg at that point.

There are plenty of brands out there that offer the same articulation, waterproofing, and overall functionality of Acronym but without the pricing which will cost you an arm and a leg (...sorry, cyborg anon).

This shows some of the features on Kuhl's Raid Pant. This is bar none the best pair of softshell pants I've ever had. It beats competitors like Outlier and Prana into the dirt and then some.

I don't have one of those but my guess is that they wear it because of the cross-body design and slim profile (compared to other bags) which means that you can wear it under a shell. Secondly, they seem to expand pretty well if you want to store a bunch of stuff in them, but if that's not enough the MOLLE on the outside of the bag allows you to attach pouches and other things for more storage/functionality. Oh, and the strap system allows it to be worn around the waist or over the shoulder. Both configurations will help in easily accessing stuff in it on the go: unlike a backpack which you have to take off first and then get your stuff.

Ontario here, I bought $300 boots on there before from a seller from California 2 years ago. Idk if customs rules or enforcement has changed since then (I've only bought within Canada since because of exchange rates) but I asked him to mark it as a gift so I don't get charged border fees. Got the package a week and some days later no fees, no hitches. Did that several times as well from Japanese proxies who were super helpful.

The problem is if the package gets lost then you're fucked. As a side note, if they ship via UPS you ALWAYS get charged extra fees in my experience.

My school has a lab that develops prosthetics. We mostly work with electronic systems now but the issue with these fancy custom designs is that there's little room or support for the hydraulics that usually make up the joints. There's also chances the fit and shock absorption won't be as good as your daily driver because there's less room for padding. You're better off building one diy and wear it for fun a day or two until you start aching. Prolly not worth the investment. If you just want the looks buy a block of eva foam, carve a cylinder out the middle to fit it around your current prosthetic and then sculpt the outside to give it the look you want. At the very least it won't look like a car jack anymore

by affordable i assume you mean the cheapest. Which is stuff like columbia, north face, or things you would find in marks work warehouse or sports stores, then yes it is obatainable at an ok price but depends on what you would deem affordable. Nike acg makes some of the most "techwear" gears pieces out of the mall store brands. which can be from 100 and up, usually under 300.

If you wanna go a level up, look up Enfin Leve or guerilla group, they make some of the sickest cargos with all the straps, pockets and wide option of materials, but you'll have to sacrifice groceries for a week or 2 since they run about 200 to 500 usd. I would argue this is affordable even if you pay rent, just make a budget.

The crazy stuff like arcteryx and acronym and other hypebeast brands are too out of reach for the average person unless you put money away for a bit and finally make that purchase. but when people throw that word "affordable" around I know it means for something like 20 dollars. and that shit ain't gonna happen bud. Just find some cargos at goodwill and taper them yourself.

I've been lurking techwear threads for a while now and I don't get the techninja thing which is clearly used as pejorative term here. Tapered cargos, various kind of face covers and windproof+waterproof jackets can be purely functional and I use a combination of those when biking to work in cold weather (and did that long before finding out what techwear is).

So where do you exactly draw the line? Is pic related or any of those guys from >>12868193

There are poorfags on this site that will hate on the techninja vibe because of how it looks too fantastical to the point of cosplay or because this shit is expensive and is seen as unobtainable due to the unrealistic price. I mean sure, paying for clothes instead of a car sounds outlandish but in the end it's your money. Do whatever the fuck you want. Two tings come to mind.

1) >>12889708 is right more or less, do what you want. BUT

2) If your socially conscious, you'll realize 90% of people around you would look at that and think you look like a try hard cosplayer for a not-too-distant-future dystopia anime.

There's a difference between basic cargos that had a tailor taper them down and ACRONYM cargos that have a dozen zippers, drop crotch, and 4 random ass straps who's soul purpose is to just hang there. Same principle can be applied to jackets and masks, if they appear to serve no purpose, people can and will see right through the "cool factor." To rant a little, I'd wish there was more of an emphasis on grey man techwear (pic related), as it's the best combination of practicality and fashion that don't make people roll their eyes every time they see it.

That, and your average income can allow normal people to buy their stuff without thinking too much about the price.

It's the same how TNF is considered "normiecore" in NA and western Europe, while where I live it's an expensive as fuck foreign brand.

No experience with owning CP Company or SI, just wanted a second opinion before I cop pic related even if it's a longshot.

Loved the fit when I tried it in Club Monaco, the silhouette isn't as poofy as Alpha regular fit even if it's not slim. Anybody know if CP Company outer shells are durable at all? The insulation is down, and I hope it's good enough for a Toronto winter with some layering since it doesn't say what the fill power is.

Devoa has always been very sports/tech conscious. Daisuke was an athletic medical trainer before he started designing clothing and the large impetus for Devoa was research into anatomic cuts and movement. He works a lot with Schoeller fabric. I used to have a Devoa/Schoeller bomber that was top notch.

Boris Bidjan Saberi is obviously another techy goth what with his 11 line and collabs with Salomon and Ortlieb.

I fucking love the old Is-Ness stuff. The label has moved toward a more comfy/normie/90's look lately but their pre 2011 collections always had some cool techy pieces that were a lot more interesting than the all black stuff that gets posted here.

Also their old website is a fun time suck.

how good would an acronym jacket be for winter time? I notice most of the jackets look kind of thin to be used in winter time, most goretex jackets i've owned had a little bit of insulation on the inside.

I see a jacket I like but i am unsure of the performance, so if anyone owns an acronym piece can you vouch for it's capabilities in the colder weather?
