Could I get some different examples of this sort of haircut I can show my barber?

My current hair (grown from complete buzzcut with no haircuts so far) vs it fresh out of the shower with the sides and back down and back to mimick a short sided long on top haircut.

I really like how good a basic haircut looks, it compliments my head shape (whatever my shape is) and just looks really good and hides my big forehead.

I have the worst hair possible. Gets greasy in a day, and is thin so it looks like I don't have much and you can easily see my scalp. It's naturally wavy but I can't comb it (except just before I have to shower) because if I comb it it loses the waves and becomes a shapeless mass like those metalheads.
I'd cut it short but I'm a girl and I'd look even shitter with short hair. I wash my hair every other day and let it dry naturally.

I might just get it shaped up and see what happens if I let it grow longer. You look like you have my same issue though with basically no volume at all which really sucks. I don't mind my hair being long but I wish I had a way to give it volume with out making it look super greasy with gel. Maybe I've been using gel wrong. Who knows.
