My first ever cologne/ fragrance was one that my father had for years called Preferred Stock, and my god is it 90's. He also had Gray Flannel and Christian Dior. I then bought myself Drakkar and soon realized, I absolutely hate the more classical, old fragrances.

My first blind buy was Attitude Extreme by Armani, which I do not necessarily like; very dark, masculine.

My first "serious" purchase was Versace Eros.
I know have D&G "The One", Eros, Givenchi Play, and soon Blue de Chanel.

I actually moved away from body sprays and shit like Old Spice because it damaged my psoriasis (too chemical) and I enjoy fragrance for casual use and certain occasions.

Amsterdam fag here. Took a break from the ladies to do some shopping today. They had a sale a De Bijenkorf today. 30% off a whole bunch of frags. We're talking Roja-level stuff. Wound up copping that bottle of Amore Mio I've had my eye on for a while.

Also got a bunch of samples. Really liking the new Amouage Beach Hut. Not at all what I thought it would be, not really an aquatic, more of a sweet, mossy, minty kind of deal. I may have to grab a bottle at some point. Great scent that no one seems to be talking about. Could be a real sleeper.

marrying them, when you know they will grow old as you will someday, nothing wrong with that ... she just wont be indoctrinated by public school and her peers as much ... potential matters the most, what do you want an old woman you can semi relate to who went through a whole train of dicks or your young ideal gf who loved nobody else but you ... granted it's unfair if you fucked 50 women too and think you deserve a pure young wife

That's because it is a true, not very common, all-season, all-purpose frag. I probably prefer it in the summer heat, but you can truly wear it anywhere, any time. There is also a lot of dynamism, so it changes constantly. Fascinating fragrance, imo.

I've been wanting to try Imaginary Authors for a while, while most of their scents have intrigued me nothing has left me feeling like I must try it until this release.

Black tea, Lapsang Souchong tincture, orris butter, Kyoto moss, musk balsam, sandalwood

It sounds so effay. I must try this. Going to wait until more reviews/thoughts come in because getting a sample to Canada is a tad expensive.

So, my escort last night was actually quite the fraghead, herself. She immediately noticed my bottle of Creed MI in the bathroom, and we got to talking about frags. She knew a whole bunch of niche brands, she was actually wearing Love by Kilian, which was rather sexy on her. She was a very cute, petite, young looking blonde Dutch girl, so the scent really worked on her. She didn't know Roja, but I showed her my bottle of Amore Mio and let her try a spray and she loved it.

Also, she decided my dick is now called Apollo, from Apollo Creed, because I didn't have a name for my dick and she insisted I had to have one, and I was wearing Creed MI. So that's a thing.

How are tea notes?

And I think you'll enjoy them. I tried Every Storm A Serenade and Cape Heartache. I really like the latter, strikes a great mix between masculine woodland notes and strawberry-vanilla slightly feminine appeal. It is, of course, overall masculine.

>>12858018
That sounds wonderful! What's it like being with an escort versus a person you've dated? How expensive is she, in relative and absolute terms?

>> No.12858071

>>12858038
Well, escorts are interesting. I see the window girls in De Wallen during the day, which is kinda like fast food sex. Fun, but nothing really more to it than that. With escorts, I go high end. This girl was from the Agency, Society Service, and their prices start at around €600 for a 2 hour booking. I got a 4 hour booking, because I like having more time to get to know each other a bit and relax. Have some chocolates, a few drinks, chat, kind of helps create a bit of a connection so when you get down to business, it doesn't feel like business, y'know?

With the girls from this agency, since it's quite high-end, they're not seeing a lot of customers, maybe 1 or 2 bookings a week or so, they're all very beautiful, sophisticated women, and it's just much more intimate. Unlike with window girls, you're kissing, you're lying in bed together cuddling between "rounds", it kind of almost is like being with a girlfriend, except you've only known her a couple hours if that makes any sense. Feels much more real. Obviously, I know logically that it's business, but that's not really important. I'm just relaxing and having a good time and it is what it is. No need to make things more complicated than it needs to be, just enjoy.

It's definitely an experience. If you're ever curious and have some money, I'd advise giving it a go. It's not for everyone, but it's worth trying at least once.

Could maybe be helpful to me to be with someone I find extremely attractive, yeah. Or at least fun.

>How are tea notes?
What did he mean by this? I haven't tried it yet so I don't know.

Cape Heartache was always at the top for me because I love pine/fir notes a lot. But I find I can't stand vanilla (my last encounter with vanilla was L'Occitane Eau des baux and I didn't like the vanilla in it). But I know vanilla can change radically between fragrances and the type/amount can vary a lot. But with that said, I already have a little bit of Slumberhouse Norne which fulfills my pine needs.

>> No.12858090

Well, I just approach it like I would spending time with any woman, really. I'm not a weird, autistic guy who can't hold a conversation, I would think guys like that mostly aren't doing this sort of thing because it would make them too anxious. Remember, you do still have to be able to interact with this girl without dropping spaghetti.

With high-end agencies, particularly in places like the Netherlands where it's all legal and regulated, they're generally pretty choosy about which girls they'll let work for them, so you're generally not gonna get bitchy girls who don't really want to be there and are just in it for the money. Society Service, for example, requires all their girls to at least be working towards a university degree and have another career. They don't take girls that just want to be career escorts and are only in it for money.

I think you might not have come across a vanilla you like yet. I initially hated vanilla, but I came to like it. Try some different kinds of vanilla extracts sometime. I am reading now that light and dark ones are apparently the same thing but I am convinced that the ones we had tasted and smelled different from one another.

Slumberhouse is lovely. But expensive. I'm hoarding my little sample. One day I'll get a full bottle, maybe for a special occasion.

Fille en Aiguilles by Serge Lutens has intrigued me for a pine fragrance. I've heard it leans more feminine though. There's a couple CdG scents from the Incense series that feature pine (I think Kyoto and Zagorsk, but not as a feature note). I used to be more excited about CdG than now though.

I think you're right about vanilla. I need to try it more and try more fragrances that feature it. I think it's used a lot in the "Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille" esque way by designers, I think I need to explore it in niche houses though.

I tried Zagorsk, it's more like pine soap. Soapy clean, weak as all hell. Not interesting. That's at least from the few times i tried it on, never even properly wore it because it felt like such a waste of time.

Do you like or dislike the TV style? I think I quite like it, and will be buying some samples of imitations soon. Maybe I settle on the original, but I feel like there's a lot of room to explore within that style. Different kinds of spices/chocolate/vanilla/tobacco, different ratios etc. Projection and performance are also obviously going to differ with this. But it's something that my FWB enjoyed, and I quite enjoy myself. It feels a tad feminine with the overt sweetness, but I am someone who likes the aesthetics of an pleasant and elegant man, as opposed to a macho one. Not to rip on the latter, it's just not who I am.

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed by CdG, their descriptions/stories/notes sound great and big but they never seem to live up to it. I've only tried one from them but I've seen lots of reviews with the same sentiment.

I'm not sure if I do or not. I think I only sprayed it on a card very quickly in a duty free so I can't say for sure. I remember sniffing a couple of his more feminine marketed scents (I think Black Orchid & Cafe Rose) and I was disappointed. Grey Vetiver was the only one I tried on my skin, I thought I'd like it more than I did. It was just okay.

I feel the same way and find a lot of the macho marketed frags aren't for me. But anything overly aquatic, sweet, or powdery instantly turns me off. I really like natural/woodsy/floral.

Been trying out my sample of Amouage Beach Hut I got at de Bijenkorf the other day. Had several good wears now.

I'm really liking it a lot. It opens with this really beautiful green, slightly sweet mint. Kind of like Creed Royal Water or a bit like Versace Eros, but less sweet and more natural. You also get a bit of wood and peppery spice. The opening actually sticks around a good while, at least an hour or so. After that, it dries down into this very dry, peppery, minty vetiver and wood scent. I get sandalwood and cedar for sure, and some other woods I'm not sure of.

Very evocative. It's not remotely an aquatic, it's more like some old, disused cabin on a beach that's been bleached by the sun and has grasses and weeds and stuff growing through it. You get a hint of that sea air in the green notes in the opening, but other than that, it's all beach.

Yes. It is a cologne that smells like the beach.

Kramer was a genius this whole time.

Saw a very nice Russian lady in the windows today. I was wearing my new Roja today, and she commented on how nice it was and asked about it. She had not heard of the brand, but then we got to talking about fragrance and she told me she had watched an interview with some British guy who has a store in London where he makes very expensive personal fragrances for people. I asked her if it was an older guy with silver hair wearing a crazy suit, and she confirmed that it was indeed, and that his perfumes came in little 50ml bottles with coloured stones in the caps. Had a little bit of a laugh together when I told her that I was actually wearing one of that guy's fragrances right now.

It seems like quite a few of the working girls here are actually fairly knowledgable about fragrance, or at least are interested in it. I've wound up having discussions with quite a few of the ladies about fragrance, and I'm not autistically going out of my way to bring it up or anything. Just sort of happens. Kind of cool.

Anyone else have a guilty pleasure in fragrances that contain animal essences? I can see what the recreational molecules try to capture but they miss the mark. I'd say some nitromusks did pretty well but macrocylics and ambrette do a decent job I guess. Screw those "laundry" type musks though, ew.

look what I got /frag/. Wearing la yuqawam on one hand and SMW on my other with l'aventure blanche on my elbow to compare.

La yuqawam is great cant stop smelling it, leather plus some sweet raspberry, apparently TL is even more leather less berry? In that case I'd probably prefer this one. I'll probably buy a bottle is not really expensive.

SMW, you know, yesterday I threw out some rotten mandarines/grapefruits, this smells like that but obviously not as repulsive , what the fuck. Anyways after a few min that rotten smell tones down a bit behind some florals but I can still smell it in the background. I guess I'll try a few more times till the sample is done. Also this doesn't smell like it has good performance.

L'aventure blanche, supposedly a SMW clone. I dont really get the rotten smell in this one, it smells like SMW if you strip down its complexity. Pretty bland but at least it doesn't smell like rotten fruit.

I can tell you what I think about MI and reflection man in the next few days if you guys want to hear it. Can also compare aventus to cdni to l'aventure.

Of course, let us know.

I don't care for SMW, myself. I own Xerjoff Mefisto, which is sort of similar but much, much better in my opinion.

I do own both Reflection and MI, I think both are great scents. Very date friendly, very crowd pleasing while still maintaining a fair amount of complexity.

Insurrection Pure II is a bigger waste of money than CDNI, though that's because it just doesn't perform at all. Think of a Calvin Klein version of Aventus, then water it down even further than you're imagining.
