What are the differences between this 150 dollars leather jacket and a 720 dollars schott?

The leather looks the same, they weight the same, it has all positive reviews.
The only difference is that this is top grain leather while schott must be full grain but other than that I dont really see why schott is 600 more expensive.

America and NZ are the only 2 countries in the world where the leather equivalent of particle board can be sold under the moniker of "100% leather".

Full grain leather is not paper thin, soft and useless. Top grain is shamefully ugly when it begins to age. When you invest a real leather jacket, it should be the sort of thing you can have for life and give to your son, and it should look better with each year.

Trust me the quality is insanely different. I've been lucky enough to thrift amazing motorcycle jackets, and everything from the thickness and quality of the leather, to the zips, to the lining, stitching, and fit is drastically different.

Within high end leather jackets, the major difference I've seen between fathion jackets and actual riding jackets is the fit. If they're actually made to ride, the armholes are way baggier and arms are less tapered.

No, I just have a good leather and been wearing it ten+ years now. The investment was worth it, because it's an endgame sorta garment.

DESU op it's possible that you could get this jacket and that it would last you a long time - I have a couple of boots, belts and other leather stuff that isn't even made of high quality leather but has survived years - that's because even shit leather is fairly durable, I mean there's a reason why thousands of years on we're still using the tanned leather to make shoes and coats and shit - and top grain isn't even shitty leather.

That said, hq leather products really shine after several years of owning because-
1. Thick full grain leather of quality ages beautifully, you can almost instantly tell when you're looking at aged full grain- there's a quality about it that's difficult to fake - especially when you see it in movement.
2. As important as the leather is - design, dying, stitching, detailing, zippers and buttons are in the long run crucial and WAY more likely to fail you than the leather - lower quality manufacturers tend to save on these parts because they know the main attraction for a lot of people is just the leather itself
3. You're obviously paying for brand but the benefit you get is resale value - in 30 years time a full grain Schott leather jacket will prob still be worth a fair fraction of its purchase cost - if not more

Quality leather is sort of expensive but has the potential of lasting you a full lifetime - I think you should consider that when you're looking at the price.

Aside from the fact that the Schott jacket is much better quality leather (as many explained in this thread); Schott makes quality products that are worth the money.

I have a military jacket from Schott that I've been wearing for well over 10 years and it's still as good as when I first got it. Quality matters with outerwear, and paying a bit more for that quality is definitely worth it

If you don't actually ride a motorcycle, either buy a slimmer one like SLP or just don't. Slim tailored leather jackets look good as a fashion item (if you're really skinny), the baggy look of an actual motorcycle jacket will make you look like a fucking clown, avoid.

Guys, good quality leather jackets are not common where i live. I was just wondering if this one is worth it since i can get it at half the price:

I only got a faux leather jacket for now.
