Is Supreme the biggest joke on modern society's consumerism?

Hint: You are the epitome of the joke if you wear supreme without being paid to.

Share your opinions! Mine is that only retirees in elderly care facilities are entitled to wear the brand. Or entrepreneurs who are paid for ad placement!

It's for people who approach fashion with the same mentality as people who collect shit like Kubrick figures. People fooled by apparent scarcity and desperate to fit in to some kind of shared identity, no matter the cost.

I mean, the idea of entitlement to wear a brand is dumb, but I definitely think contemporary Supreme is kind of ruined. Even though they still put out some good designs, they've definitely increased the pricing scale while simultaneously decreasing their cost by producing more.

They're just fully aware of the hype. The core of the brand was a really cool, strong niche movement but things got a little sickening when it went from a for skater / by skater brand to a social signifier. By losing the community that built the ideas, it's definitely turned into a joke.

But, ultimately, they're getting rich.
