900 calories? I'm sure it's possible but that doesn't sound healthy at all unless for the layman. It depends on the person but there are calculators out there that should be able to help you figure out how many calories you should intake. I quit caffeine a few months back. More for my sleep. I haven't noticed much of a difference in appetite. Caffeine helped me in the short run from eating when I first upped the amount, but then it kept normalizing and soon didn't help. So I think it's a wash. Kinda nice not having to search for coffee in the morning though, so I'm staying off it.

Yeah I hear low numbers here all the time. If I could manage even 1700 comfortably I'd be so happy. I had such an easy time getting to my current weight but now I'm like stuck. And it's no secret why, it's because I'm eating too much, but I want to get thin and have it be sustainable too... and below 2000 calories or so I feeling starving.

(reposting from previous thread because I'd like some input)

I'm 176cm, 80~85kg (don't have a scale, based on my latest measurement back in August), M, 22

currently making an effort to break out of my horrible eating habits. so far I've dropped soda for diet coke and plain old water, replaced chips with a daily serving of popcorn (to keep my cravings for salt in check), and I'm trying to make it a point to mainly eat 200g of lean chicken for dinner. on top of that, I'm going to the gym (right across the street from where I live) 3 days a week but only keeping to cardio (burning roughly 250cal each run)

I've had a pretty bad case of body dysmorphia for the past 5 years, so it can be difficult for me to notice any progress. I have a bit of muscle as well as somewhat broad shoulders that can't really be helped (genetics for you), so I'm only really looking to get rid of my stomach fat and slim down my waist. my biggest issue right now, though, is the fact that I can't seem to stomach most fruits or vegetables...I tried eating a carrot last week and it actually made me retch. I have something of a fondness for citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons, but I haven't gone out of my way to buy any for a year now

I just want to be smaller and look better in the type of clothes I like. my goal weight would be 60kg

any tips?

Is it wrong to have a cup of coffee? No, of course not. Is it wrong to be so hopelessly dependent on coffee that you cannot function in the morning until you have had your cups of coffee? According to 1 Corinthians 6:12, the answer has to be yes. We should not be addicted to anything. We should not allow ourselves to become mastered/controlled/enslaved by anything. When consumed in moderation, caffeine is not a sin. When one is addicted to and dependent on caffeine, that is when it becomes a spiritual issue, and a sin that needs to be overcome.

i try to eat things that are high volume but low cal. idk about you, but for me hunger often comes from feeling like i haven't eaten enough stuff, even if i have enough calories

i just eat a TON of veggies. i'd also suggest eating half your meal, waiting about twenty minutes, and then only eating the rest if you still feel hunger. it's easy to eat a lot in one sitting and not realize your body is good to go

food list needs some work.
-Lean meat is good - protein contributes to feeling full.
-Cooking: go easy on the oils, cheese, butter. Add all the spices you want since they're fairly low cal; salt, garlic, onion, ginger, oregano, chili, red pepper. etc
-use sugar substitutes for cooking and baking. Oatz, shakes, baked beans, asian stuff that uses sweet rice wine. Just swap it all.
-Ordering at restaurants - check the appetizer menu for more realistic portions.

When you're losing weight make sure you don't eat back exercise calories. You can to some extent if you exercise a ton, but unless you're hooked up to an oxygen sensor you're not going to have accurate numbers for calories burnt exercising.

Pre cooked frozen chicken is my jam. Pick any food you wanna make and use the pre cooked to reduce time and effort (particularly the annoyance of safely handling raw meat). Look for stuff that has ONLY chicken in the ingredients. The pre spiced stuff sucks. You can also cook your own meat and then freeze it (thin sliced lean beef, mmmm). Personally (and it would be my guess that a large number of users who either do or don't comment) do not think 19 bmi is chubby. However, 19 BMI is likely not going to be the end game for thinspo so it's deemed undesirable. Most people who want to be very thin have their reasons. For instance, I was a chubby kid, thinned out as a high school athlete, and now want to change my style so I'm working on getting rid of fat, mostly gained from consuming ice cream, cereal, and beer in my first year of college. I'm 5'9, 155 right now with some muscle and was about 135-140 before I started lifting so I'm working on getting back down there. That would put me at around 19 BMI which is plenty for me (obviously not for others). Do I sound crazy to you? There are undoubtedly unhealthy people here both physically and mentally, but most people are not aiming for a 2 BMI, and just using the frighteningly thin thinspo as inspiration. Sorry for rant.

You do not sound crazy to me, having a goal is good, and being a bit underweight (for the others) is fine too, but it's an obsession for a lot.
I understand people have reasons, but a lot of them are unhealthy fixations revolving around their self-worth in relation to their weight, I'm honestly just being worried about them.

I know I won't change anything, but it's insane to me how some people can be in denial about it. (>>12819808 "extreme dieters")

First is eat plain ass food. Oatmeal with low cal sweetener and fruit, plain baked potatoes (no butter), caesar salad with only a pinch of dressing (fuck salad without meat), microwave veggie packs. Just have lots of variety.

Weather or not to skip breakfast is debatable. It's a quick 300-ish calories skipped but you'll likely eat more later to compensate. Personally I skip breakfast, have a plainass lunch, then a good dinner and a snack sometime later. 400cal lunch, 800cal dinner, 400cal snack (I gotta work on the snacks). Go have the big dinner as long as you limit the calories around it.

Don't buy junk food or easy-to-eat food. Make yourself make it. I screwed up today and had a cliff bar, freakin 270 cal that coulda been a huge salad or a giant can of tuna or something.

Final thing is get preoccupied. It's MUCH easier to ignore hunger when you're busy.

I've become more emotional, but it stems from paranoia. Like the fear that my partner is cheating on me, or doesn't love me anymore, or is upset at me, or so on and so on. I suppose it's deep rooted insecurity finally showing itself which is odd as I've never felt this way before /thinspo/

I have fits of -- I don't know what to call it, I wouldn't say it's depression but I'll often get teary eyed, downtrodden which then leads to short-hand anger before the finale of immense self hatred and regret; lasting the night.

I feel lonely, neglected, and are critical of the littlest of things despite these not being true at all.

This hasn't happened before /thinspo/, so I don't know if that's to blame.

if you're still tracking calories accurately but stagnated then your basal metabolic rate has reduced.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3943438/

a *possible* solution is reverse dieting, where you increase caloric intake slowly - about 30% over 3-4 weeks. The goal is to increase the metabolism with minimal weight gain, then resume dieting with the higher BMR. It's not scientifically proven yet

http://www.jtsstrength.com/articles/2014/07/11/need-know-metabolic-adaptation/

Also other anon is right, 1kg a week is a little fast. That contributes to metabolic adaptation. Try 0.5-0.75 per week. From the third link I posted:
>So, it is advised to impose the smallest possible deficit that yields appreciable weight loss, and to establish a relatively slow rate of weight loss (3). When weight loss begins to stall, make modest, conservative adjustments to increase the energy deficit, and approach the diet in a step-wise fashion with incremental, periodic adjustments.

>1k caloric deficit
go for 500 calorie deficit, so 1500 cals a day and do your cardio stuff

You'll be able to stick to that diet while not starving yourself and feeling like you have enough energy to do things.

Yoooo
I am an inch shorter, only a few pounds below you, and I also had a slightly lower starting weight. Amazing progress anon, it seems more difficult doing this type of thing when you're short. My gw isn't as low as yours though, so take care of yourself and be safe going that low. Take ya vitamins, drink water and get sleep.

I love you, pint-sized anon.
It does suck because as short girls, even when we reach our goal weights, we will never really be model material. :/
But I'm working to lose 1.5 lbs a week, which puts me fairly close to my goals by the end of the new year.

2018 is going to be my most fashionable year ever.

I love you too! It's nice to know there are some other tiny anons here who understand the struggle. I'll never have them beautiful long model legs, it's the saddest.

I've been working on being a little more fashionable in the meantime too and I'm hoping 2018 is my most fashionable as well. Cheers!

Pretty much this, minus the hair bows 'cause my hair's not long enough.
And I'll replace the shoes with a pair of black converse or something.
