You just have to live with it looking weird for a while. Ive been growing my hair for a 14 months now and it still doesnt look good. Im starting to worry it never will but im trying to stick it out to see.

Getting a cut tomorrow, want to grow my hair out long but I have no idea how to ask the barber to cut it in such a way that it will look good when it grows out, pls help.

By that I mean each individual hair is thin in diameter, but I'm in no way balding and actually have a fairly thick amount of hair.

Mainly, it's hard to style it or find good products because light holds will just do nothing as soon as a light breeze blows but think products like gels completely weigh my hair down.

Is there any way to actually get legitimately thicker hair?

The best way I've found so far is to get one of those thickening conditioners. You wash your hair with it for a week and it just adds globs of shit into your hair, making it seemingly feel and look slightly thicker, but it's really not that much different and it feels pretty disgusting over time.

I have shitty thin hair that's also wavy and it makes most if not all hairstyles look like shit on me.

What are some good "intermediate" cuts on my way to something similar to picrelated? I've been trying to go to barbers/stylists and just telling them to trim the back so that it semi-lines up with the front (I'm trying for longer hair on the top and sides and shorter in the back so that it ends up like pic related), but they mess it up in a different way each time.

Also, if my hair gets a bit messed up (it's currently a bit uneven from my last trip to the stylist due to me being impatient with growing it out and trying to get it to not look like shit), is it better to keep growing it out and having stylists try to fix it later, or should I just buzz it and start over if I want it to be more or less even and not styled to one specific haircut?
