I have a similar hair texture that you guys do (I'm a tranny tho) and y'all look like your hair is really dried the fuck out and you never comb it. Get a wide-toothed comb, comb your hair every day, focusing on the ends to keep knotting to a minimum. I also recommend that if you use shampoo, stop. Conditioner only, if that, and use more leave-in stuff post shower. Ryan Seacrest apparently uses Lubriderm in his hair, and I can attest to using lotion (I use OGX body lotion tho) as a hair softener. The best technique I've found it after you get out the shower, dry your hair sorta halfway, spread lotion throughout it focusing on roots and ends, and then comb it into a style of your liking/tease out the desired volume.

I regularly get compliments on my hair, so I like to think my technique works on some level. So try it! Unless you like having a wiry mop on your head.

i had to go bald to get my hair like this. i had been combing it and parting it everyday for about 15 years. once i got a buzz and it grew back it was able to curl like this.
i know your feel though, i hate short hair too. after i left the barber i cried because i felt disgusting. some people actually liked it and i learned most people really just dont give a shit. i think its a good thing to experience, having a shitty haircut. just cut it my man.
