since you are asking, probably not for you. it's ok tho because it's not a fantastic look. it's an item of clothing that only communicates one idea. the joke is that you are appropriating something a bit dated and uncool right, and there's supposed to be something a bit subversive about that?

there's more interesting ways to make that joke

its not so dissimilar to the way birks flew back into fashion, taking something that was vilified on older folks and making it young again, topsy turvy. but that works a lot better because they are actually a great design. it's less ironic and less one-note.

i used to have that side flippy hair until i grew it out and naturally it liked to lay brushed back.

my hair is also realllly layered and i think that helps make it look really big n fluffy as well !

the hair kinda curling towards the end is a result of it just being long and laying on the base of my neck.

hahah i agree! the upkeep isn't an issue at all either.

i don't use any products. after a shower i'll take the hair towards the front-side/temple area and sweep it up towards the top of my head and let it lay there while it's still a little wet.

kinda helps train my hair to keep a curvy-ish shape.

REGARDLESS it's naturally like that. never used product before.

i actually don't use shampoo. sometimes i'll feel groady and use some head+shoulders shampoo/conditioner that has been just been hanging out for a while.

My head doesn't produce a ton of oil so i can get away with not using shampoo or conditioner and not look like a dirty dude
