most people are bad at dressing and worse at accessorizing. it's rarely about the jewelry itself (although, forever lolling at white guys with ear gauges). people who know what they're doing can pull off just about anything within reason, and it's something you can tell by looking at them. they don't look like they're wearing a costume, or chasing whatever the latest trend is (look at me stacking beaded bracelets and leather wraps that i bought online, i'm very interesting aren't i). jewelry looks good when it's an extension of who you are. clothes look good when they're an extension of who you are. all this shit should look effortless, a borderline afterthought.
