the palette he used for his first two seasons was tonally cohesive and interesting, and he used modern tropes to the benefit of his specific brand. As someone who keeps an eye on fashion week shows and hasn't listened to one of his albums since graduation, I can honestly say that his line fits well within the pool modern designers. Not really Miyake, Kawakubo or Margiella, but very good none the less.
