I know most of you won't give a fuck but I have to get it out of myself. Few weeks ago I posted in this thread about deciding to bulk up (my stats were about 53kg/180cm, I'm a man). I treated it very seriously, counted every single of the 3000+ calories I consumed in a day, made sure I follow a proper workout routine and excercise with a good form. I started seeing some small progress, I got a bit of muscle definition, I was getting stronger and could lift more almost every day of going to the gym (noob gains I guess). I was on a great path to achieve my goal but I stopped- I realised that I wasn't doing it for myself but to other people who would make innocent jokes about my weight (well if you count the auschwitz survivor ones as innocent) or for people who would tell me that I would look a thousand times better if I put on some weight. Truth be told, I was comfortable in my body, I liked the way clothes looked on me, I liked looking almost androgynous, I enjoyed browsing fashion campaigns and shows and seeing models who looked exactly like me. So yeah, I know it sounds like the most basic shit but I finally realised that I can ignore the image people expect of me and just do what I like. Rant over I guess (sorry if it's incoherent, english isn't my first language)

I'm currently 154lbs, look thin, but still have fat thighs and slight chubby love handles. I'm thinking another 10lbs might do the trick...

At the same time, since I'm decently tall I wonder if I should just bulk up. It takes most of the night to get into the fasted state. Say it takes 8 hours from your last meal for your body to stop burning glucose and move to fat, so if your fasted time is 16 hours versus 18 hours, that's really 8 hours (8 hours to start seeing the benefits, then 8 hours of fasted state) versus 10 hours (8 hours to start seeing benefits, then 10 hours of fasted state), which is a 20% increase. Yesterday I fasted 22 hours and ate dinner which was 192 calories, 14g carbs, 9g fat, 11g protein, then, at night I ““binged"" on a piece of chocolate (40 calories). Question about calorie limit:

I'm 23yrs, 6'1, 165 pounds. Have probably lost 10 pounds over the 7 months, nothing too dramatic. In that time period I've started working out 2-3 times a week (lifting and running a mile each time), and am really going for ottermode more than anything. My food tracking app says my maintenance is 2,200 and an online calculator I just used says it's 2,400.

In general, I always thought that seemed like a lot. Are the apps/calculators legit? Like, are they overestimating my calorie intake or anything? I go under the limit during the work week, but almost always over on Fri/Sat drinking with friends...never realized how terrible beer is for you. Despite that, I'm under for most cumulative weeks though.

Moreover, should I try and eat more if I want ottermode? I already look lean with a bit more muscle, but is eating less while working out counterproductive?

Well, I tried shrinking my portion sizes a few days ago, but still gave into to sugar cravings now and then.

The downside is that breakfast today was bigger than I wanted it to be because my gf was a bit concerned.

okay your mealtiming is reasonable, and since you are in the fasted state you are still getting HUGE benefits and MASSIVE fatloss. however, I'd recommend you balance that out more and have a reasonable amount of calories, with more fat and protein than carbs. doesn't have to be ketosis, the whole idea of IF in my opinion is not having to fuck around with super special diets to get AMAZING results - but still keep that fat high.

Thats basically all kinds of wrong. Take your maintainance caloriric intake, be sure, then eat that same amount of calories with an IF timing and you will start losing weight.
