Hello guys
I'm new here but i've been developing a taste for the art of well dressing.
What do you think of my outfit?
I usually prefer more stern, classical outfits rather than extremely avant-gard clothing

>> No.12071384

All good but the pants are too tight
Slim is good, adherent isn't

>> No.12071396

if you want to adhere to classical style, do yourself a favor and don't mix dark browns with black.

>> No.12071400

>>12071396
Then how should i mix the dark brown?
Blue, navy?

With other dark colors: Navy, Burgundy, Olive etc

Black + brown/beige is tired, played out.

I don't care if it's played out.
Problem is, most of my clothing is black or white. I don't have much colours in between

This is pretty bad and only for more formal wear with dress shoes
I.e black shoes dont go with dark denim
Olive goes with black

Brown boots can easily go with black jeans, pic related. This fit would be worse off with black chelseas

it's just a photogenic pic but in real life, that color combo is cringy at this point

That's how it starts. That's how I started now I'm ordering an 80s aesthetic Mexican blanket to wear around like a poncho.

Hi anon, I too myself began dressing better a few months ago and now I am at the point where I can recognize what looks good/bad and I'm assembling my wardrobe. I was in the exact same position you were in so here's some advice;

pick out a few items from your wardrobe that you like wearing the most and try to build outfits with them/around them

your end goal should be to have a wardrobe with pieces that work well together so you can mix and match to make different outfits

read the sticky, and while your at it go to reddit's fashion boards and read their beginner guides from the sidebar too. The information compiled here is made specificly for newbies and will help you avoid wasting money

only buy 2-3 new peices every month and look at them as a 5 year investment. If you can follow this rule then it will save you a lot of money by helping you avoid hasty purchases. You may buy something then realize a few weeks later that it doesn't fit well into your overall style.

when starting pick simpler pieces over flashier pieces

drink more water

thrift stores are your friend

how a piece fits is much more important than how it looks

almost forgot a very important bit of advice;

Sales are devices used to get you to buy things you don't want because it looks like you are getting a deal. If you see a sale that looks good, but you haven't already been looking at buying the item for a while, then don't get it

>> No.12073559

Dressing well must mean extremely basic and inoffensive. Seriously, what is there to discuss about this outfit? You just look like a regular jackoff so you'll blend right in.

>dark denim and black wing tips? get it!

Pretty borderline imo. I works in theory because wingtip brogues are more casual, still, it's a bit too close to the navy + black mismatch for my taste.

Take this infograph as a reference, not as a rule. Different shades of brown -can- work with black clothing, like oxblood or tan, while others clash.

>i've been developing a taste for the art of well dressing.
Well it certainly doesn't seem that way from your pic

>> No.12073707

>>12073540
Actually some really good advice.

I would add that you shouldn't ask people too much about their opinion. The stuff you posted looks pretty good so it shows you have a basic understanding of fashion. Just evaluate for yourself if it looks good on you, which is the most important thing.

just get the pure black ones, have a pair of these myself and they go so well with plenty of different fits
and they look less niggerish
