A few of these have already fulfilled themselves but here goes

>adidas will fall off. The sneakerhead side of things will still be fire, but everything else will be hidden in a closet until the 16 year olds move on.

>Heelys motherfucker. summer 2017 memewear will be in full force. You're gonna lose your bitch to a dude in sketchers.

>"alt-right fashion" will explode. In reality whats going on is that normalcore will hit the mainstream and it's going to be politicized so that huffpost has shit to write about.

>Tucked in vintage polo style shirts. It will look good with your fanny pack.

>> No.12031481

>the 80s and 90s will be a big source of inspiration for 2017. Sweatbands might be a thing again.

>visors.

>anything floral patterned that isn't hawaiian. It's the camo of happiness. Hawaiian shirts will be the new frat douche pickup though, so tread with caution.

>paisley will be a winner, mine out your local goodwill now.

>calculator watches. temple beads. weirdo wrist accessories.

>words on a shirt will still be a thing, but the typefaces are going to change. 80s and 90s fashion will be used to inspire this.

>bell bottoms? it just might happen. That trend is cocked and loaded. it's just waiting for a bad bitch celebrity to tell the masses that it's popular again. might be the response to high waisted-slim fit normalcore.

>beards hit their peak and can climb no higher. They will remain a strong alternative for anyone with a shitty chin. grow your moustaches now if you can.

> the 70s will be used as an inspiration point for the black community (bell bottoms may play into this). Afrocentric styles will merge with hypebeast culture. (supreme bogo with an african looking color pattern in the box type shit.) It will be seen as a sort of response to the alt-right fashion, comparisons will be made to a polarized america here. This trend can only get so big because asians can't rock it.

>Asians control streetwear trends, the only thing that can destabilize this will be vintage americana (with vintage europeana possibly being a trend here as well) and memewear. its a battle of heart vs hype.

screencap this if you think im full of shit, I'm interested in hearing other prophecies as well.

specifically, the alt right are going to take normalcore in a more trade-workery/common man/anticonsumerist/DIY direction. BIFL is going to be a big tenant of this (this will be when it gets heavily politicized). It'll be amusing watching dudes whip out leatherman tools for any little occasion.

>In reality whats going on is that normalcore will hit the mainstream
Think about this sentence for a second, and think of how redundant it is. Of course "normalcore" has always been the mainstream by definition.

Step out of your little bubble. The average person has, and will always, dress in the most "normalcore," least-effort way possible. I'm talking hoodies and Wal-Mart jeans.

If this is your "alt-right fashion," then I'm sorry to break it to you, but it is nothing new. It is the consistent, "average" baseline of what people will always dress as.

Most black people buy off of hype, brand labels and a general consensus of cool. This has been changing though.

There is a misconception that black people are the trendsetters, this is only partially true. Black people have always been loyal to streetwear brands and their celebrities retain these loyalties. These celebrities can make an entire clothing brand explode. I can't say much regarding the trends of high fashion and haute couture

The future will be much more viral and base itself off of critical thinking on the part of the consumer building their own aesthetic (>>12031543)
Celebrities will have less direct say in whats hot and the power will instead go to things like inspo threads/blogs/videos.

>>12031703
No. There will be a deliberate attempt at a nostalgia involved, People want to dress like they have their shit together. The alt-right side of things will have a slightly more utilitarian flair with an emphasis on the durability of a product/lack of disposability.

I suspect that they ferociously defend their patent and focus on kids wear due to bad corporate management. A bigger brand will see the potential and push for a collab with them. When this collab happens, buy the fuck out of them. The website is going to crash and there will be lots of issues regarding shipping the shoes. Fashion will maintain grey scale, and incorporate androgyny more heavily. The mixing of hiphop and rock fashion will become indistinguishable. Culture will move toward unity in response to the great divide from the election. Distinguishing rednecks from hoodlums, wealthy from poor, and even men from women will be increasingly difficult. Fashion will also be based more on function than form as future uncertainty increases and survival becomes a necessity. Also skateboarding and rollerblading will come back but only as a means of transportation.

>> No.12040816

Euro normcore, late 80s and mid 90s will become even more popular. Black skinny jeans will stay strong but other colours will definitely lose to a more slim or relaxed fit. High rise pants and combat boots. Related is also military inspired clothing. Black sneakers will start to replace white ones, the all black trend will end up bringing up post punk, and eventually goth and emo subcultures back. Terror wave and slav core will be strong in the next couple of years. Its even possible that in two or three years we start seeing bell bottoms again, in women first. Also there will be an adoption of 70s styles especially in suits, we already saw this with the GUCCI collection of this year. Tucked- in polos and bigger lapels are coming. Also finally, thick framed glasses will be totally replaced by 80's aviator styles, and round framed glasses.

There will always be forerunners. Some will fall off, like >>12042971 did.

>athletic wear/techwear/ stuff continues to rise

I am having a hard time seeing the demographics shift in a big enough way to make that a thing. Outdoorsy and active people tend to stick pretty religiously to their outdoor brands.

>>more straightforward, future-oriented stuff goes mainstream
This will probably be something we will see occur in 2019-2020 as a response to the quiet of normalcore.

Sure is underage in here.

A lot of these prophecies are more like 'this is whats happening right now'

Thats just looking.

>alt-right
OK so Im 26. This whole 'alt-right' fad has been going on since I was a teen, just its name has changed.

The whole Neo Nazi thing was started to be ironic, thing is the whole irony thing got started cos the need to be unique within a demographic was strong with the youth after emo and nu metal died. 'we must show we're alternative but make sure everyone thinks were normal' Haircuts, boots etc are just a derivative of that.

Then for whatever reason the thrash/deathmetal aesthetic took off, I guess cos its so gnarly and with drill music making it big (essentiall horrorcore with trap) the whole death vibe.
Its not just hip hop, pop felt it too.
Thrash and rock teeshirts have always been cool, just now its more accepted. Kinda like the whole geek chic thing that happened.

Now theyre kinda joining up and trying to get more luxury.

BASICALLY

What wasnt cool when you were growing up or at least what was 'alt' will be the next big thing.

Now I dont know what you 16 years olds are slagging off these days but I guarantee that in 4,5,6 (deff 10) years you will be doing/wearing exactly that. It may even become fashionable

we're coming in to the beginnings of a rap metal and nu metal revival for aesthetics and alt culture. Things work in 20 yr cycles, it's been 20 years since that started, and the normie fear/distaste for Trump mirrors the youth opinion of Bush around winter 99.
