Can somebody explain how pants are supposed to break with chelsea boots?

To me, they are most attractive with a cut of trouser high enough to expose the neck of the boot; otherwise they might as well be slippers. Ideally pants shouldn't break or stack on them at all.

But, but: the moment you start walking in such trousers, the tags flare out and catch the pants.

Depends how your wearing them, you should never see the tags while in standing posture though, or cuff/pinroll

is this cunt talking shit about RMs?
>>12004021
also RMs are a city boot styled on a work boot often worn with chinos, suit pants etc. so like pinrolling some dress pants is pretty fucking lol

>> No.12005270

They're not, Chelseas are too ugly to wear. Get real ankle boots.

>> No.12005558

RM Williams seems so strange when i first look at them, but the more I look at them the more I like them. The toe box looks really blocky on first pass, but that's not really the case at all.

Yes, they're supposed to break like any other pant leg, resting on the top of the vamp. The point of Chelsea boots isn't to show off that you still wear shoes with elastic in them at an ostensibly adult age, it's to give a clean, simple line unmarred by laces, straps, broguing and other shit. Not to mention, if the neck shows while your standing, that pretty much means that as soon as you sit down you'll be showing off some of that hideous scrawny chicken leg. And that ain't effay.

There are round toe versions. I tried on the classic and it didnt feel right but the "turnout" version felt godlike and looks a bit better imo (especially on a younger person)
