I always laff at people coming in here for reccs who have no clue. Just go into your large local department store and smell whatever you like then buy an $80 bottle of whatever aquatic, bright generic cologney smelling stuff that pleases your untrained pleb nose and attracts whatever girls you think you're going to get.

Actually, it's better to stay this way, being a fraghead is kind of cringe. I usually dress in lighter (almost acidwash) slim jeans or black slim pants, with various hoodies or tshirts/long sleeves. I keep to more light colors, usually whites and grays with the exception of my red crew-neck that i love. I live in a pretty urban setting and i try to be charismatic.

I own both. parfum is very rich and deep. It's very much a colder scent than intense. I think intense is more universal as it could be worn with most things where as Parfum's distinctive leather accord tends to Lean towards formal. People seem to think the reform for intense is bad, I wholly disagree. It's still quite strong, although parfum is in another league altogether. That thing'll perform till the next day on your skin and won't leave your clothes till you wash them. Careful you don't gas people out in confined spaces.
This was just a ramble, but i think you just need to smell them and decide for yourself.

Are you living somewhere so far into the wilderness it takes you 5+ hours to get anywhere? Many fragrances get to base notes only after 6+ hours, so middle notes matter with those. So I sampled a couple of "noir"/evening fragrances--Tom Ford Noir, YSL La Nuit, encre noire, nuit d'issey.--and am very disappointed in the sugary sweetness of Tom Ford Noir and YSL La Nuit. imo they are not reminiscent of "darkness" or "night" in any way. Encre noire and nuit d'issey seem better-suited to this task but I get the feeling that there's something more interesting out there.

Any recommendations for dark noir scents with minimal sweetness? I just ordered samples for Bvlgari Man in Black and Tom Ford Oud Wood in the hopes that they better represent the scent I'm looking for.

Mancera Cedrat Boise is often available for around $95 on sale. It's got a nice fruity (blackcurrant citrus) vanilla heart that runs through its suede and wood base. Immensely potent, but certainly all-occasion given a light touch on the sprayer.

If you want something like that but for formal/professional settings, consider Chanel Allure Homme (the original, not either of the sport versions). What is everyone experience with perfumeoils.com? The perfumes are recreated with the same oils, but I wanted to know if its good, or if it's so far away from the original scent that it's justifiable buying the real thing for 100-200$ more

Once in a blue moon, a close copy comes out, and everyone in the frag community goes wild and knows about it (like Tuscan leather) but these things are rare and miraculous. There's no way this company can manage to get more than one of it's imitations even similar to existing fragrances. It isn't easy, or everyone would be ripping off Chanel, Guerlain, Amouage and Serge Lutens at 10% of the cost.

Is this just my scent and the chemistry just works on my Italian skin and natural body oil? I think CB is great stuff, as do those with whom I've shared decants (both male and female). If it is not the most complex scent, it is at least versatile and exceptionally long lived. I plan on buying a backup bottle when I see it on sale for under $100 again.

Care to provide more insight into your dislike for this one? Cedrat Boise doesn't smell like any variety of Axe that I can recall. Dark Temptation would be the closest, and even comparing the two is just silly.
