i do sort of like western core , to be honest. im not some young trendy kid though, but i'll post what i think looks good.

1. hats: a stetson hat, like the one from Justified
2. boots: frye makes a few pair of cowboy boots that look nice. i try to avoid the redneckish looking shit or the lizard and snake skin boots. to be honest, a solid boo for the price is the Ariat Rambler. Has a good look to it, super comfortable too.
shirts: ive always liked the snap front western style shirts. wrangler makes some cheap ones that look pretty good. lucky brand also makes a lot of western shirts, theyre more of a slim fit.
jeans: this is tough because i think bootcut jeans look really shitty. but unless your tucking them into your boots, you kina have too. wearing like levis 501's with cowboy boots looks really awkward and stupid. maybe get the wrangler slim fit cowboy cut boot fit jeans, or some slim fitting bootcut jean.
