Depends on the proportions of the rest of your fit.
Generally with a slimmer silhouette you'll want to wear the pants either over your boots or tucked in and tightly laced.

Where can I find some well-made boots similar to pic related? I'm thinking about buying a pair of IRs because I can't find anything that I like better. I want something with a slightly taller shaft and eyeholes all the way up instead of hooks. Cap or plain toe is ok. I just want something a little classier/thinner than an American workwear style that isn't actually a dress boot. I'm a lanklet and they feel kinda clunky with my proportions and style. Ideal colour is a burgundy/oxblood.

Was looking for that type of combat boot for a while, ie. one with speedhooks, vibram sole, black leather w/ no synthetics.

Most country's surplus combat boots are either ugly, too dated or too modern looking for what I wanted.
German BW
>too clunky, thick
>hooks all the way up
They'd be good for a tech fit
Jungle boots
>uncomfortable
>panama sole looks weird
>drainage holes
Corcorans
>clown shoe silhouette
>expensive
>you probably look like a leather daddy
Desert combat boots
>shia kanye biter tier
SFB, Danner Tachyon, etc.

Can anyone recc black boots that wouldn't look out of place in both workwear/Americana fits and more contemporary stuff (like a car coat and slacks). I realised I don't own any black boots and all my brown ones look silly styled with the latter, but it'd be nice if they could work with most everything.

Should I stick with something like combat boots or in the 1000 mile style? Most stuff I see leans too hard one way or the other. I really like pic related, but they're a little on the expensive side.

I had a pair of 1462 for work and got them on a Christmas sale. All the guys I worked with swore how great Red Wing boots were as far as quality, durability and the guarantee that comes on them. They fit well and served their purpose but after a few months the stitching was getting fucked up around the eyelets and the sole was coming off. I go to the retailer I bought them from asking if the warranty covered them and he said to get ahold of the company which I did. They went and said that it wasn't a defect in the product but natural wear and tear. So long story short I paid big bucks for a set of boots that didn't even last as long as others I've owned. I'm in a 60 dollar pair right now that have lasted me over a year now and I'm starting to barely get a fold in the toe. If you can afford them by all means get them, other than that the quality isn't worth the price for a work boot in my opinion

A question about the fit with jeans. My jeans are fairly slim, but over the years the cuff especially has started to stretch a bit. This makes it so that they look pretty huge around the ankle. Should I go and buy a pair of tapered jeans to keep a cleaner look?

Pic related, it's a shit picture, and the jeans are caught around the ankle, but normally they go a bit lower down. Cuffing this pair makes it look very bulky and loose so I'm thinking of buying a new pair that fit better.

It's funny I had the same issue with work shoes when I was working under this one chef, he swore up and down about Allpro clogs. His were two years old and still in okay shape (which is great for kitchen footwear, my cheap milsurp boots usually lasted me a year or so) so I dropped about $90 on the non steel toe variant only to have them get torn up in 6 months, and they were just a single, heavy duty piece of rubber, no seams to rip or tear. I then went and bought CSA Blundstones and they've gone nearly three years now, and literally everyone else I've worked with who tried a pair hated them, or they got wrecked.

I guess everyone has different experiences with similar (or identical) products.

I've been looking for weeks for these boots. They're Stone Island X Diemme Military Boots from the A/W 2012 collection. If anyone knows of a place where someone is selling a pair, please share.
