Yes, shaving the sides will make the pomp look better. Although, shaving the sides too short will throw off head proportions. When i had a quaff/Morrissey haircut it literlly took me shave after shave to figure a good number for me, which happened to be a 2 or 2 and a half.

Please help me guys very please. My hair is really thick and wavy in the middle and curly on the sides of the top(?). I currently have a rather grown out undercut with the sides being 2-3 inches and top 7.
So my question is, should i thin my hair quite a lot so that it would be easier to manage or do i embrace the thickness with a cut that i might not like, but suiting my hair better? Ill try to provide a pic but im a filthy phone poster. The picture is obviously me but its exactly my hair type.

What's a good way to style this kind of hair?
It has a natural tendency to fight gravity so its's tough to work with but when it gets around 3 inches it starts to flatten out. I normally take that as a sign to get it cut short again but I'm bored of the same look.

Most of the people I know who have gone quite blonde said that straight up bleaching is better than foil highlights or balayage. Are you planning on doing it yourself? The best way to do it is probably in steps over a few months, depending on how many levels are between your current hair colour and your goal. For bleaching I'd probably stick with your stylist, since you have one you're fairly loyal to anyway (with end trims).

When I had lightened hair I used Living Proof's purple shampoo. iirc it doesn't have sulfates or parabens.
