I mean as far as orient watches go, I've seen worse, but still. just get a daniel wellington and spend the extra money on booze. orient is raketa for weeaboos. the honeymoon effect of babby's first mechanical will wear off in six months and you'll want to get rid of it, but oops! nobody actually wants a shitty used orient so you'll be lucky to get $75 for it

I don't like the bambino either. every single time they don't seem to know what they're going for, it's like they are fucking it up on purpose so that people buy orient stars. take that one for example. roman numerals with railroad tracks? rose gold indeces and hands on a steel case? just what the fuck.

they do have a VERY small number of models that are actually nice (pic related), but they usually discontinue them after about 5 minutes, and even when they're available it's like, ok I'm gonna pay almost $1k for an orient? why would I do that when I can pretty much get a grey market entry level nomos for that kind of money. or a lot of pretty nice vintage watches that actually aren't butt ugly. or a few decent quality quartz watches if you want to have a dress watch and a casual watch.

don't worry I'm just as hard on seiko 5s. I don't dig the idea of getting a mechanical watch just for the sake of getting a mechanical watch.
