So I just got a new job and I have to wear a suit every day...Which has made me realize that none of my dress shirts fit me right. They are wayyyy too big. The measurements are right but just way way too much material around the waist. I've gotten a few tailored but that shit is expensive so I was hoping to find a better fit so I don't have to tailor all my shirts.

What brand of dress shirts are best for someone with a slim body type? I got some Joseph Banks slim fit dress shirts as a gift and even they are way too big. I need something slimmer than that.

I also just got something from Charles Tyrwhitt and it was the extra slim cut and the chest and collar was too small but there was again too much fabric around the waist. I know I ordered the right measurements because my tailor measured me and was telling me to start getting slim fit stuff.

I work out a good bit so I think that's why it was too tight around the chest.

I feel like it's impossible for me to find a decent fitting shirt without getting them all altered which would cost a lot. Maybe I'm just being really picky.

Has anyone else had this problem? What brands are best for someone with my body type? I am 5'9 155 with a good bit of muscle but I'm not ripped or anything. Thanks.

Brooks Brothers has slim and extra-slim fits with different colored labels so they're easier to pick out.

Does anyone know how they fit? I live pretty close to a Brooks Brothers I'll have to go there soon. >>11703916

I'll have to look into that. Kinda scared I'd fuck it up though

Brooks bros milano fit is pretty good. It's their slimmest cut. To get anything slimmer you'd have to shop in Paris or Milan and then you'd look like a fag coming back here. I have some Le Bon Marché shirts from a year ago that I think I could snap now if I tried flexing.

So even if the Milano feels baggy still, my advice is to embrace it, it's comfortable.
