That's probably not what you were looking for but some diseases causing learning disabilities and stuff also cause you to be fat

Like prader willi syndrome makes you both dumb and hungry 24h/d

There's probably some link between poor selfcontrol/impulsiveness and simply appearing dumb without actually having your intelligence impaired, someone who can stop for a second and think about what they are doing is gonna look less dumb than someone with regular intelligence but no impulse control, and the same trait that can make an intelligent person act look completely retarded in regular life can also make them overeat a ton

Goal is 135

Been lifting weights for the past year. Need to get rid of this last ten pounds and then maybe my massive quads can fit into some jeans. Arms are getting too cut tho. Forearms and biceps are too juicy but I need them for work. Glutes are too big to ever look good and it's also where most of my fat is. Butt calves are forming.

This shit is hard when you want to be swole but also aesthetic.

I've given up on being cute. I'll wear a dress from time to time but mostly I'll stick to fuccboi shit.

Not everyone is so lucky as to be completely lacking muscles. I did it to get out of depression then it worked too well. My dad was always super muscular despite never working out. It seems genetic.

Even on a 600 calorie deficit plus 20 miles of ~15 mpr bike riding the muscle just grows. They fat goes away but the muscle expands like a tumor.

Not everyone can be so lucky as to not get fucked by genetics.

Cardio works. I have a bike route that's about 50 miles. If I go fast enough the calories burnt calculation comes out to about 2000. This is with a lot of sprinting.

I'll mostly do the 20 mile route and burn about 800. More if I sprint more.

Can lose weight very quickly like this. Gotta eat healthy though to have the energy to pull it off. Really helps get rid of those last few pounds.

No, I mean I literally have a genetic disorder that results in more muscle mass. I talked about it with my doctor and a kinesiologist he recommended. It's some hyperflexibility disorder that forces your muscles to flex near constantly to hold your joints and shit together. He thinks I have a double copy of the gene but we don't know without genetic testing.

I don't fucking want to be a "special snowflake".

Cardio is a drug that drives my endorphins. I'd rather not go back to being depressed.

I'm just going to get rid of all the fat I can. 1200 calories a day, mostly veg and a few Oz of chicken, just like I've been doing for three months.

You are delusional, you aren't gaining muscle mass on a few grams of chicken a day. This isn't how human physiology works. Your "hyperflexibility" doesn't generate aminoacids out of thin air.

Your muscles "flexing" wouldn't cause you to gain disproportionate amounts of muscle with balanced levels of androgens.

You're so stupid it hurts, it's obvious by how you think your consulting a "kinesiologist" on an purely medical issue.

People on cocktails of drugs that change balance of chemicals in their body by an order of magnitude, drugs that promote muscle gain, fail to consistently gain muscle mass while on a caloric deficit, yet you think that your muscles FLEXING NEAR THE JOINTS allows you to achieve that.

You're actually mentally ill, your doctor should have their license removed for feeding your fantasies as well.

Just keep the cals over 1300 or so. When your TDEE is 1900, subtracting the 1000 calories means you are left eating only 900 and that is not healthy.

2lbs a week is okay when you are still pretty fat.

Day 1 of the five-day fast!

Where's the anon who was going to join me?

I managed to get a rl friend on board as well-- a male, no less. I'll post his updates here if he has any, and ofc mine.

I just woke up so not much to report, but the first day of fasting is boring anyways.

So far I've had an extra strength 5-hour energy and 180mg of pseudoephedrine, about to have a cup of coffee. I don't necessarily recommend any of these things for a fast (especially day 1-- you don't really need it) but I have issues and minor stims make me happy.

Keeping your calories low will lose you weight up until a point. If you're eating carbs, 500 cals a day is going to slow down your metabolism (on keto this is another story). 1000 calories a day, eating carbohydrates, will keep you ticking along, as long they are more complex carbs.

Three coffees! To suppress your appetite?

Drink lots of water. Do you happen to have magnesium bisglycinate on hand? By the third day you will likely need to replenish your electrolytes, and magnesium is a big thing for keeping cravings down as well as preventing muscle cramps/spasms which can ruin motivation for a fast.

>> No.11699613

You're attempt to sound like your an authority on the issue is insane. A muscle doesn't just flex near the joints. If you're trying to keep your knees in line your entire quad will flex. If you're trying to do it while walking, while also trying to keep your hips in line as well, you'll be working your entire legs. Did you also miss the part where I've been weight lifting for a year? I was eating 1800 to 2000 Cal a day then and my legs exploded. Sprinting on my bicycle made it worse. My doctor said people with this condition can have 13 to 30% more muscle than the average population depending on if they have one copy of the gene or two.

The kinesiologist ran me through some flexibility tests and gave me exercises to do in order to strengthen my joints further to get them to stop popping out of the socket so much. He studied hypermobility in school, which is why my doctor recommended me to him. He specializes in cases like this.

Stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about. Your posts read like you've only ever glanced at the /fit/ sticky.

Isometrics are a thing, and if you do them all day every day it will make a difference.

Still you're right that is important to eat well. But still you could eat 2500 calories in a day and still lose weight if your bmr is 2000 and you do 1000 calories worth of cardio. Not to mention the temporary boost in your bmr that happens after you exercise vigorously.

Weightlifting for ONE WHOLE YEAR at 2000 "Cal a day". You must have really blown up, even if 2000 kcal a day is nothing for a male, since with your condition your body generates energy by teleporting it from an alternate dimension or something.

Wow "13%-30%" more muscle mass than the average person, that's like 3-5 extra kgs of muscle on a man of regular weight, that must mean that you're gaining lean mass on a caloric deficit, clearly!

Carrying a small percentage of extra muscle mass means you get to ignore laws of both biology and thermomechanics, because you're a special unique snowflake.

You are truly autistic, enjoy being a skeleton who thinks they're huge because their ribs stick out and you got them special genetics, I'm out.

Tea haul.

The two without labels are Silver Needle and Garden of Eden. Looks like the latter has some safron in it-- should be nice.

Tea helps a bunch with fasting. A lot of people trying to lose weight ignore suggestions of drinking tea but you shouldn't. It does so much to quell cravings and relax your mind, especially if you get something floral or fruity. Black and green teas physically suppress the appetite also.

It works so well that I literally spent $80.

Good luck on your journeys everyone.

One of the things I love about the practice of fasting is how much it connects me to human history, and just other people in general. I try to get one or two friends on board every time I go for a long fast not only as motivation but because there's this sense of something *bigger* that you're partaking in. Thousands of fucking years, people have used this for self control, to be connected to Gods and Goddesses of their time, to cleanse their bodies and minds. It's just so fucking cool.

>>11700396

Oh I see. I usually don't put sweeteners in my tea unless I have it with milk, but I prefer erythritol mostly because it tastes like vanilla but it also has the added benefit of not really being processed by your body as sugar at all, which is different from eg. maltitol, sucralose, dextrose, etc. Thing is, it has a positive heat of solution, so it cools your mouth. It's strange, so I usually only use it with mint teas and heavy cream haha.

the only way to really botch making yerba is to use boiling water, you can prepare it like you would tea with good effect
if you ever want to make it the traditional way, all you really need is a bombilla and any normal cup, preferably small since you'll be drinking a few of them

That doesn't make sense biologically. The stomach does not digest itself. It's more than likely an electrolyte imbalance issue. Try taking some salt water, and later some magnesium (before bed).

If a person eats carbs before they fast, it will take about 2 days for the body to deplete glucose stores, after which it breaks down adipose tissue, and free fatty acids are processed into ketones.

You will not actually damage or breakdown any muscular tissue beyond that which normally occurs while eating, unless you have depleted ALL of your fat stores.

Tea is the cheapest fixer. You can get away with getting a lb of it for 10$, which is just as cheap as decent coffee would be.

But you use much less tea then coffee, and coffee helps with fasting. Let tea be the filler and skip sugar entirely. I try and maintain a 10-20% milk ratio, so that can easily be under <200 calories for a day even I am drinking from a 35oz french press twice a day.

though I also like liqour with it.. but thats for other reasons

Yes, if you do something like a juice fast that is way more likely, because your metabolism will be prevented from utilizing fats if you are still consuming glucose. If you dont drink enough sugar calories from the juice, you will undergo gluconeogenesis, which is basically just the breakdown of protein for glucose. Juice fasts are one of the worst things you can do to your body.

If you can get the fiber without the cereal, that's even better. If you need to supplement, I find this one to be pretty potent. It doesn't taste great on its own, but mixed with some cheerios or sprinkled on top of a salad it works good. Need a cup or so to get a real fiber boost though, so, salad is just a mini-boost.

Also oatmeal with a lot of fiber helps, plus can sprinkle some of the cereal on top. Get a low sugar oatmeal, not that highly flavored stuff. Then have a serving of fruit mid morning, small apple or something. Salad at lunch with a serving of protein... etc.

If you've done it before then you should be able to do it again, my hunger comes for a bit and then leaves it's not constant plus you can snack on lettuce/celery and drink lots of water.

its all about counting calories pmuch

use a calculator to find out your maintenance calorie intake, id say its about 2000 - 2500 for someone your size

eat at a 500kcal defecit, so maybe aim for 1500kcal a day

count each meal and dont go over this

40lb is a pretty unrealistic amount of weight to lose in a month
