Long story short: I'm of Japanese origin (or at least my father was) and he passed away recently. I was left with his father's katana and I'd like to take up learning self defense with it like my grandfather did..

Problem: I like looking pretty /fa/ or at least trying to.. How can I tie a sheathed (black) sword into an outfit mainly for my travels (otherwise I'd keep it in the car when I go out or hidden at my residence). Techwear looks like it could conceal it but I don't.. really.. want to look like some sort of ninja... Thanks my friends!

Wow this seems ideal.

For the record, I'm taking the usual classes for self defense and strength training. I won't be doing those.. ridiculous flips and iaido-spinning "techniques" you see commonly in Anime. Just usual sword art that gets the job done/point across.
