Are backpacks effay? Could i wear one everyday normally? Id like to become a writer and it would be nice to keep a little notbook and pen in one so its always handy. Along with other things in my day.

Whats the lowest cost to best looking i could get?

Side question: in italy currently what kind of shoes should i buy here that i can wear regularly

There's a Reddit "Buy It For Life" thread about backpacks, you should check those out first.

Carryology has a well organized backpack page, but some "fashion" bags are really overpriced trash. It doesn't make sense to buy a $200+ backpack if it's not better than a $100 Jansport.

These packs are for motorcyclists, but i like them.

I found a genuine leather backpack at a thrift store and bought it for $30. The leather is very thick, and the stitching and overall quality is great. If taken care of properly, it will last a lifetime. I thought I was done with backpacks until I bought it. I love this thing. Most of what I wear is neutrals so the brown leather matches with most of what I have.
>pic not my backpack but it looks somewhat similar, but my backpack is much older and looks like it's been on an adventure or two

The Belstaff Colonial 554 looks nice. But some messenger bags just look like purses.

1. leather backpacks are uncomfortable (likely no padding and no waist belt) and unflexible (no laptop sleeve)
2. vintage look isn't timeless but just sth hipsters currently like

>But some messenger bags just look like purses.
optical illusion due to small sized pictures.
look for pictures where people actually wear them. or better look at them in reality.
then you also see if the size is proportional to your body.
