imo get a 2 on the sides, but don't make it go all the way up to the fringe - ask the barber to use scissors to blend in top of the sides, if you know what I mean? Just show him the picture of the sides while saying that and he'll know what to do

As for the top, just leave it as it is. You have the length and the only difference between your hair and the other guy's is that you've combed it differently. Before you go to the barber, try to experiment with your CURRENT hair and see if you can get it like it is in the picture.

At the moment you're sweeping it all the way to the other side, and it's not falling on your forehead much, so just try to play around with it to get a similar style.

1 more thing you might want to do is ask the barber to cut off a week's growth of hair (0.5cm, maybe even less) because atm the ends of your hair look a little disheveled and that would neaten things up considerably.

Also on the way back from the barber, consider buying a low hold matte wax, a mousse and a good hair salon tier hairdryer if you don't have one already. The key to these kinds of hairstyles is the messiness and most of that comes from generating good volume so they're pretty much necessary imo.

4cm is like almost 2 inches, that'd be a bit much. imo take off 1cm from the top.

idk about the guy's sides though, since it's a front on picture. I'm not even sure his sides are that short - maybe like a 4 or something. Or he might have a 2 that's blended really low?

If you want a good middle ground, just get a 3 on the sides that's blended - it'll grow out in a few weeks and you can finetune it exactly how you want.

Grab in dominant hand, take non dominant and make a visor over your eyes. Look at the mirror and start spraying -- about 6 inches from your hair for maximum spread.

Look up angular fringe. I'm want to do this as well. I undercut it myself but the top needs to be cut in such a way it's not thick with volume but more choppy looking. Shaving is easy so I dared to do that. Personally I'd say go with a 3 if you are able to do it yourself. Otherwise do a 2 so it will last you longer and you'll save money somewhat. I think really light to skin tight contrast looks really bad and a slight contrast looks nicer but it's more work. More often having to get it cut before it looks bad since it's longer.

Buy some girly shit like tresemme. Only wash if your dirty or greasy. I use 2 shampoos and 2 conditioners. One combo helps bring out color and shine the other makes it thicker and stronger. It just works for me. Haven't bought new shampoo in months and they are about half empty.
