Can someone explain why /fa/ has such a boner for Rick? I am appreciative of many high-end designers including rick - I have owned 3 pairs of his shoes a few clothing pieces but coming back here every once or so and seeing ROG over and over again it makes me wonder why people don't expand from just RO?

Only saying this because I really only see the same shit in these ROG threads.

a lot of people can only find what they want out of high end clothing from rick. personally, i find the creativity and luxury you get for your money to be way more worth it with rick than with pretty much any other designer, and there's a certain look and attitude no one else can give you.

that said, /fa/'s rog threads are myopic and boring because it's full of people who are more into streetwear and hype than anything else, so you get people who are basically just far too entertained by the fact that they own geobaskets and let the fact that rick is touching their body serve as a replacement for a sense of style.

what i'm saying is a lot of people on /fa/ "don't expand from rick" because they're pouring all of their time and money into piecing together meme outfits. people who have been into rick for a few years and have moved past the meme phase generally -do- wear other designers, albeit usually a limited number of designers putting out clothing of similar quality and thoughtfulness. my wardrobe, personally, is a combination of rick, yohji, and cdg at this point, and i buy them all for different reasons but mix them into outfits together pretty often. (one thing i won't do is that pointless shit shui does where he insists on buying all black all drapey everything, even though cdg for example absolutely does not specialize in moody goth shit and you're basically shooting yourself in the stylistic foot by doing that)

They're long and tailored - so they won't be as good for casual fits, maybe better with boots than sneakers. Also not as weather-friendly as light cotton pods.

Not a lot of cleaners/conditioners will have any noticeable effect since it's all chrome tanned leather. I recommend lexol cleaner and conditioner, plus a little neutral shoe cream if you like it extra moist (use cream and not wax!).

I've also on occasion waxed my geobaskets when I was going to be in a lot of rain or snow. Nothing heavy that requires heat to apply, just a light oily wax. Red Wing makes a really good one that doesn't affect the color or texture.

Less is more though, try to do it like once or twice a year max.

I mean it's a leather jacket, it can be pulled off with a non-rick wardrobe I'm sure, but the extended sleeves and exaggerated collar are designed to be worn with an extended-torse longline/dropcrotch silhouette.

I mean I have mainline tapered L pants that fit fine, also M in a more straight leg cut.

I have a big ass though, and since the drop crotch doesn't look as extreme as with pods/prisoners and that they're tapered pants, I think they could work. Just don't want to regret not waiting for a medium.

I wear my intarsia with black jeans and a plain black tee all the time (also usually Rick sneakers, but it works with any black boots too). It's really not a super exaggerated look without the rest of the Rick gear, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Don't be too paranoid about wearing Rick with non-Rick. It gets shouted so much here that I think people start to believe it about every single thing he makes, and it's not really true.

I'm kinda stuck between this and a moody tunic. I can get this for cheaper than the tunic (270) and really like the leather detail.

The tunic I was looking at isn't a great price, so I could always try to cop cheaper later. There's a cotton white one for fucking 175, but I want black. I wish I knew how to dye shit, don't think I'm gonna start on a brand new mainline tunic...
