What's up with /fa/'s hate for r/malefashionadvice and r/streetwear?

r/mfa is basically a continuation of when /fa/ was somewhat mature and created guides to look sharp and mature (circa 2009-2012).

r/streetwear is the same as /fa/ is today with the same shitty fits, same street styles, same affinity for brands.

i honestly don't get the hate. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

This question is no longer valid.

/fa/ was once a place of individuals legitimately interested in fashion, and knowledgeable. With that came elitism and pressure to improve which reddit's hug box environment does not endorse

Then the great war came...

Australian shitposters living on welfare chased out these legitimate users. Australian shit posters based their day to do lives around harassing people sincere in their interest to discuss fashion.

Everyone left.

Tumblr, reddit, and plebs infiltrated /fa/ and impregnated its soil with the most basic celeb discussion and trends -- neo-/fa/

because every 4chan poster originates from /b/ and thus everyone has this retarded elitist "cool kids club" where they think they're so above people from reddit because theres porn threads and gore threads openly
the whole 4chan vs reddit thing is propagated purely by autists, they're barely even the same website

the waywt from reddit is equally as bad as the waywt's here and the whole /mfa/core clarks desert boots and flannels and muh raw denims is pretty irrelevant nowadays

Reddit is a hug box and when plebs who aren't even interested in fashion get a vote to upboat for what is fashionable and what isn't the quality of the subreddit drops

That and mfa is more autistic than /fa/ and are obsessed with "rules" regarding fashion, they can't think outside the box

I can't speak to what's on MFA or whatever, but I think the big concern is generally the hugbox-y nature of Reddit. Here, the overwhelming trend is to be negative and mean, whereas there, the overwhelming trend is to circle jerk for Internet points. There was, as I understand it, a substantial overlap between MFA and the redpill/PUA community, which is fucking stupid in its own right.

There are some decent parts of reddit; namely, weekendgunnit. Any place that has a dude duct tape a gun to a roomba is OK by me

/r/mfa is a one-stop-shop for the uniform. It's inhabited by greasy neckbeards who wear anime tees to 'stand out' who are redpilled into realising girls don't dig their lolicon tees. They're still retarded enough to hate on normiewear so think the dadcore MFA uniform is the key to puci. It does its just of trying to stop people from wearing MLP merch in public and does just that. /r/streetwear is just a circle jerk of wiggas that think their life is shit because they're not black and are desperate to look as black as possible - typical leddit cucks.

People who browse 4chan are already autistic/sociall unaware enough not to really care about what other people think which is why stuff like tricky rick and 'extreme' streetwear is so popular here. Posting your fit on WAYWT and thinking you're super stand-out and awesome in your ridiculous clothing is what keeps this circlejerk of a sub alive. It's also why there's so much hate for leddit, because mfa and /r/streetwear are just one rung on the ladder closer to normie than all the autistic fucks on this board.

Yet I still spend too much time shitposting on here.

Also much of the cancer that is reddit has already infected /fa/ since reddit sucks 4chans dick so much. So many FAGGOTS and NIGGERS came from those cancer sites and now we have the faggot OP not even trying to hide his FAGGOTRY.

/mfa is basically every fuccboi thread on this site, except for asking absurd questions about the same, tired meme'ed trends or articles of clothing, Reddit users ask simple, vanilla questions like "what's a good colorway in CDB's if my wardrobe is mostly blue" and "help me choose x."

There's almost zero creativity on any sub on that website. Constant circlejerk of things that were circlejerked on effay two months prior (or four years, if you consider that CDB's are still a top rec on mfa).

God no.

Those guides were created by GQ Magazine & other dad age websites, not by us. Tripskank made some guides but they are awful because they don't teach you about taste also we were super ignorant about fashion in general back then. If you ask her she would probably think the same, we were too young.

Just so you know: r/streetwear > r/mfa. Reddit is bad due to dumb moderation & /fa/ is also not good enough due to complete lack of moderation. You can make any unrelated thread right now & mods are not going to care except if it's porn.

Now fuck off OP.

this is correct, i browse /fa/ the most and occasionally visit the other two. I despise r/streetwear because it seems none of them have any basic knowledge of fashion. This place used to be better, but i've noticed /fa/ becoming more like r/streetwear, with a large influx of plebs and
>which anime meme is most effay
There's a large concern with acting the part to browse these sites, and its fucking irritating because it detracts from actual fashion. There's sometimes a quality post though, with /fa/ discussing high end runway styles etc. and r/streetwear displaying some legitimately well dressed, unique outfits that you wouldn't see on here. Although r/mfa wouldn't describe themselves as involved in fashion as the other two, they certainly manage to keep out memes and shitposts and keep discussion on topic. There's also one or two quality submissions and i'd say it's a great starting place for learning about stuff like the cut of a piece, or other technicalities. r/malefashion is just /fa/ without the bullshit. Many well dressed people discussing fashion. They even embrace memechrome. I'd say skimming all 4 places gave me a nice amount of know-how to develop my own sense of style. Just don't stick to one or you pick up their bad habits (fa: spending £300 on a trainer and it being acceptable/ strtwr: thinking youre black/ mfa: beardy lumberjack style is always in/ mlfashn: monochrome = good
