I don't know if this is the correct thread to ask this question in, but you see, I am going to go to uni in Japan. University of Tokyo more precisely, starting april next year. Where should I search for advice on what to wear and how to build a wardrobe for Japan? It's ok, a bit to be desired. It's CS so theres a bunch of autism, one of the lecturers fills his slides with memes from 2010. Theres lots of practical programming, everyone makes out the first year to be harder than it is but if you pay attention its fine. Make sure you have a decent maths background for year 2 tho.

On the other hand living in London is the absolute tits. I'm a foreigner and I chose King's over other good Unis coz I wanted to live here. Theres always something going on specially on the first week of the year and its always a laugh if you fall into the right crowd to spend your friday evenings with. If you pick King's make sure you get into one of the good halls tho.

Honesty I think a big part of why I love it so much is I have a strange obsession over it, I just walk around Soho and surrounding areas for about 1-2 hours a day.

But it's just convenient, literally everything you could ever need is just there. Nigh life is amazing and any decent club is no more than 15 mins in an uber. Tonnes of dealers around too.

Advice? It's really not as hard as all your colleagues will make it out to be, if theyre anything like my year they will bitch and moan and send emails to staff complaining.

If you work during the weeks and only fuck about on weekends its pretty straight forward, try to get a grasp on object orientated programming early and start revising pretty early coz most modules are marked only on the exam

On Which uni it says 84% male, so pretty bad. But at least for my first year (doing maths) the ratio was 50/50, but desu I dunno if it's just me (maths students were mostly squares) but all of my friends I made through halls and partys rather than through my course. I can name maybe 15 and am not good friends with anyone from my course this year (about 250 students)

One thing that struck me at KCL was the number of chinese students in maths (and cs as well perhaps I will assume? Will find out in sep)

maybe 30% of the course was from china. I don't mean to stereotype but they only talked to other chinese students and always in Chinese. There would always be about 2 rows in the lecture theatre of the chinese students, they didn't like sitting next to other white people. Even in my tutorials of perhaps 12 students, if I were to be put into a group of 4 students., with 3 of them chinese they would ignore me and just talk to each other in chinese instead of talking to me...even though it was meant to be group work!!

They also spend much of the lecture on their phones, even in the more intimate tutorials the chinese would message other chinese on their phones even when the tutor would be speaking to us.

Despite all of these down sides, many of the chinese are great insp for /fa/ purposes. They pay about £30,000 a year for tuition and live in the luxury student apartments and receive no loans for this, so the chinese are extremely wealthy. They have sick street fits and even dare to wear their hats indoors. No social norms get in the way of their top class fashion. Actually I say this but the males at least (I don't really look at females) often wear the same thing: Yeezy style shoes, joggers that are tight around the ankle and the top has more variety. Be warned though a lot seem to still wear graphic tee's that are very 2007 lol.

Going here next year in the spring semester. Anybody want to offer their experiences to help me ease my worries?
