Explain why it's dope.
or
Explain why it's trash.

>> No.11212203

It came out of nowhere, nobody knows how it got popular

is insanely expensive, despite the quality being mediocre, doesn't even have any celebrity endoresments

it all looks like shit to top it off

why does this meme exist

>> No.11212208

dude lets copy margiela and add some memes in the mix to appeal to young hip internet teens lmao

>> No.11212217

it's basically a bunch of designers just doing whatever they like and throwing it on a runway

i personally think its really fun and it looks cool, i always liked the edgy look of metal bands and shit, i think that's the only shyt that i like from vetements.

plus weird cuts and oversized shit, i dunno it looks aggressive and cool.... that's all that really matters BAKA DESU fAm

>> No.11212250

you will guarenteed be ridiculed for wearing sleeves that long

Cuz Kanye wore it

I never really realized how huge Vetements is getting until I was in LA a few months ago. I was in this rich neighborhood (I'm not American so I don't remember where exactly) and there was a bunch of rich looking kids wearing their stuff. But like really young kids, like 16~18 year olds. Is that even their demographic? That's odd

LA is weird fucking place man. I would never in my life move to that place

I'm starting to think bleeding edge clothing companies are sending clothes to Instagram fuccbois and girls to wear then cutting them a check.

asspizza
luka sabbat
sarah snyder
ect

the instagram celebrities that are so mindless followed are in a lot of ways the dictators of what people think is cool. It's a way for up and coming clothing brands to directly inject themselves into the mainstream of a subculture, it's working.

wake the fuck up anon. This is like, the business model of fashion bloggers the internet over even though most deny it on the regular.

70 percent of the bloggers income come from a commision on sales generated through their websitessocial media feeds or direct cash handout and free items for a dedicated post about a fit.

Text and image based pages are not making money anymore, video is the main way people monetize these days. Since most fashion bloggers don't have a following large enough on youtube commissions and fees is the only other way for them.

A lot of them even work as social media and brand consultant/spin doctors for specific campaign with labels but don't really disclose it.

Vetements is doing pure derivative work. The dude who founded it repeats in every interview he goes to thrift stores, buys random shit, carefully undoes the stiches, replicate the pattern and enlarges it then sends the results to production with a fabric that is close enough.

Last collection is very 90s lowbrow. No original thought. It's very trendy because muh skinny fit is too mainstream must be special snowflake.

a lot of it loos super dope on the runway or in editorials but it's impractical

looks weird in real life, also the pricing is absurd

it's just a trend, it'll die out soon and then the brand will change it's image completely

>It came out of nowhere, nobody knows how it got popular

no it didn't. their earliest collections had full blown runway shows and the brand's designers have ties to margiela

>is insanely expensive, despite the quality being mediocre, doesn't even have any celebrity endoresments

can't disagree with the expensive part, but there are a ton of celebrities wearing it. from rihanna, to kanye, to travis scott, etc,

this has literally been happening since forever. anyone with an "influence" on fashion gets free shit/a paycheck.

do you think luka and ian connor pay for their clothes, period? they don't 95 percent of the time. they just get shit sent to them, with or without asking.

>> No.11212845

idk, kinda hypebeast, not my taste, nothing wrong with liking it though
