Okay, first let me say this is the longest my hair has been in my life, I have no clue if this is normal with longer hair or not, but i've had -alot- of hair coming out whenever I shower lately. I'm pretty sure that hair 'shedding' is normal. It may seem like a lot of hair because there is literally 'more hair', because the hairs are longer obviously, but not necessarily more hairs.

Beside that, hairs that fall out naturally (not in a balding sense) can get stuck and when washing you'll be moving your hands through your hairs more violently making those hairs come loose together with the hairs that naturally fall out due to shredding and putting those two together may make it seem like an unnaturally high amount of hair comes out, while really it's not that bad.

Plus, bad treatment of the hair could cause more hairs too fall out, might want to look into that maybe.

this means that there will be loose hair flowing over the buzzed portion provided your hair is long enough

and

if you want them to blend the buzz with the sides of your hair

a low fade will typically blend the portion halfway through your ear a medium fade will be more along the lines of tip of your ear and a high fade just disqualifies it from being a hitler youth

for the top, ask them to use scissors instead and just "trim" it lightly, alternatively you can ask them to not touch the top at all, most people let the top grow

One thing you could try is sometimes grab your hair as if you were to make a ponytail then 'pull' it, but lightly and just slide your hand all the way to the ends. Basically as if you're pulling them out but with very little to no force.

I have really fine hair, and a weird part in the back that you can see in the photos. I was thinking of going short with a fade into undercut but I'm not sure.
