i have a lot of blackheads on my nose but whenever i pop them, they leave a hole in my face which ultimately fills up and turns into a new blackhead

how do i stop this

>> No.11144711

go to a doctor and get drugs

>> No.11144712

never try and pop those, you're making your skin worse.

look at the skincare thread, they'll be able to help

>> No.11144741

you can use porestrips (homemade or store-bought) after steaming your face. make sure to use a cleanser twice a day, followed by toner (I would not recommend the drugstore kind, look to korean face products). you more or less can't shrink your pores so the best you can do is clean your skin or use makeup to minimize their appearance

If they're only on your nose they could be sebaceous filaments and not blackheads.

>> No.11144784

theyre not blackheads idiot they're sebaceous filaments just cleanse your face nd do clay masks 1nce or twice a week and hope for the best. if push comes to shove go accutane

Do not use pore strips. You will permanently enlarge your pores and make pore scars.

>> No.11144950

>>11144849
Pore size is genetically determined, a pore strip will not affect that.

>> No.11145155

>>11144950
They will appear larger after strips. Also you can strip tiny hairs from your nose with those strips and then your nose will be hairy as fuck. Go read horror stories on the internet. Especially reddit.

it's not that hard.

extract them in whatever way you'd like.
start using BHA 1-2 times daily.
the BHA will kick in within 3-4 weeks.
keep extracting them in the meantime.
a cleanser will help prevent stuff getting stuck in the pores.

after a while they'll be significantly reduced in size and dark color, for the majority of people.
this is true regardless of if they're they're healthy pores, and if they contain blackheads and/or sebaceous filaments.

buuuuut shitposters gonna shitpost.

only partly right. there's multiple factors like local collagen levels/age/sun exposure/sebum production/amount of dead skin stored there.

No pore strips or picking. That wont work.
AHA and BHA are the only things that got rid of them for me and took like a month for noticeable difference. But you need to moisturize well and incorporate use SLOWLY because this shit is strong and can fuck your moisture barrier and cause more pimples and irritation if used wrong.

they're not blackheads, they're clogged sebaceous glands. the only way to unclog them that I know of without making it worse is to use pore strips

Sun exposure generally helps. In that a tan makes it less noticeable. Azelaic acid and mint masks are good as well.

I'm using Stridex twice a day and they're still clogged :(
now the faq says Paula's Choice which has BHA, would I need to switch to that then?
I can't find anything about BHA on Stridex...

benzoyl peroxide at 5% concentration, 1-2 times daily.
diet modification.

>>11146518
how long have you used it for? have you tried physically removing them? it's sometimes required to get rid of them.

Stridex and Paula's Choice BHA both have a BHA - salicylic acid - in them at the same concentration. PC BHA isn't going to help you more.

If I were you I would consider 2.5% benzoyl peroxide on its own (or in combination with stridex) 1-2 times daily - or asking a dermatologist for an Adapalene prescription. Highly effective for blocked pores.
