I think looser pants might come into play, though I don't think they'll be like the flares of the 70s (and early 2000s revival), nor will they be the monstrosity that is JNCOs.

I think something like pic related might be a direction that trends lead to - looser pants that cuff to a narrow silhouette at the ankles. I already see it in some Asian (and others) fashion (labeled by /fa/ as "comfycore") - and some designers are experimenting with it as well.

The thing with a trend is, you can't really pinpoint, as it will be both analogous and opposite of the current goings on. There will be a place at which it aligns with current trends, and a place where it seems to depart. So unless you can define what todays style is, and can adequately muster what would be the opposite, it's very difficult to estimate.
