An example I guess would be how you get something like the Wolverine 1k Krause boots, where the price is going to the original construction techniques, to a greater degree of precision, nicer leather etc. Pretty sure most modern combat boots (that aren't sfb's) have glued soles maybe with a nailed heel.

This is what they look like in mint condition. Super-durable, the sole is very solid and stitched, so unlike vans/converse it won't break apart after first season. And super cheap, i'm pretty sure they're under 15 bucks if not 10. Due to shitty marketing you can't find them online so local markets only.
