I think you maybe did too many holes. There really isnt a good way to fake damage either. IMO the best way is to weaken the material similar to what you did but lighter and then do some kind of strenuous activity in the pants. That way it actually follows where real damage would be because it is semi-real.

Also I like this thread. Unfiltered critisicm is still constructive because it's essentially what goes through anyone's head as soon as they first see the piece. So I'm glad I got to read what most people were probably thinking when they saw me in it.

Well, for one, if people know who she is, then I'm sure it's acceptable. It's not the most flattering depiction, but who knows, maybe she looks like the drawing—because I'm getting the image she looks sullen and pale (which makes sense if she's sick, I guess, so there's no harm there)

Instead of just having the image smack dab in the middle of a shirt, make it a tad bit small and put it in the lower right hand corner (facing the t-shirt), so it works as a corner (the name and the text naturally point towards a corner, anyway). The way it plays with the empty space could symbolize how, despite being a relatively small existence (after all, 16 is pretty young), the mere presence of her/the drawing being there in one corner alters the space as a whole—even the places that she herself cannot physically reach.

An alternative would be to tile the image.

Something like these, can find them in any arts and craft supply store or target/walmart

You just find something on your comp, flip it because when you transfer it's mirrored, print it and iron it on with a hot iron.

Just make sure the paper is right for your fabric (dark/light/cotton/satin) and printer (laser printer/inkjet)

Also iron the tshirt so it's flat and use tape to get rid of excess lint/dust. And iron on something hard like a table or floor. Wash a cotton tshirt before you print so it has already shrunk, otherwise your print will look like 80 year old ballsacs after the first wash

Yeah, that's true, the font would be better if it was different.

Then again, my thought was that the drawing itself wasn't particularly slick…so it would be weird if the font was slick, like Helvetica or something. The contrast would be too strong and make the drawing look out of place.

Yes. You will need a lot of hot water, just enough to submerge the half. I live in Arizona so it's usually hot here, by just leaving it outside taking sun it helped maintain the temperature.

I used the whole bleach bottle & left it there for almost 2 hours, probably the reason it went to an almost white color at first which wasn't that bad but I didn't want. So I re-dyed it with 1 spoon of blue denim dye.

again just by submerging the light half also in my experience it's not worth putting elastic bands on the sleeve like I did. The tutorial I saw had them just to make a messy effect on the sleeve but it's overrated, just go for half and half or top light *** downwards dark.

Whatever you please.
