Why wouldn't he? Why have magpul on all mags but one? What if he does a tactical magazine change, and put it back in the pouch for later use.

Why the fuck not? Maybe his gun were issued with it. It is also much more practical. He can keep it close to his body so it has fast access, and it is not that tiresome holding it since the sling holds it up to some degree. If he had the sling attached to the stock the sling would easely get in the way. It would look fucking stupid having the sling attached to the stock... unless it was also attached in front of the hand guard if you want use the sling for stability while aiming. But that would have been stupid in CQC.

His gun were parhaps issued with it but he prefer having a optical scope. In case the optical scope gets broken in combat, he can utilize the front sight. But it's strange it's fixed, and not foldable. Looks like it would get in the way while using the optical scope.

What I find strange is that he has a grenade launcher, when it looks like he is just a security guard at a public event.
