I recently started to give a shit and I've lost about 25 lbs so far. (Started at 190 now at 165, 6' tall)
I've held back on buying new clothes until I'm thin/fit enough to actually look good in them. The problem is that I've had really large legs my entire life and while my waist is ~30'' my hips are rather womanly (~36''). So how do I go about learning what is and isn't a good fit? It just feels like there's so many variables as to why something would or wouldn't be a good fit.
obviously there are some core mechanics to it, such as the fit, color scheme, etc. but how do I come to my own conclusion of why a fit is good or is say, too busy,boring, and so on?
for example, this pic displays some basic fits and explains why they work well. I've tried looking around for good fits but I live in a shit town where everyone wears diamond supply shit or is a lumbersexual hipster with a man bun.

That's what i'm looking for. I can look at the outfits that are displayed in the picture and see clearly why it's a good outfit. As someone who's very new to taking actual consideration into how I dress, it's difficult to determine what's a good outfit. I for example really like minimalist dark shit with clean lines, or an oversized fit with technical fabrics. I like shows from Helmut Lang, Alexandre Plokhov, Alexander Wang, Philip Lim.

there are a lot of other designers shows that I like a lot, and you'll learn to appreciate a cool piece of clothing more once you get into the consuming side of the hobby. lurk grailed and check out some deals you see, it's really fun to get a bargain and expand your wardrobe. once you start having fun buying and wearing shit, looking and feeling more confident you'll get more into the hobby.

It's kind of hard to guide without actually seeing but I guess just don't buy skin tight; when you pull the seam tight on one side you should aim to have a gap of about 1-2 inches between your leg and the seam (hopefully that makes sense).
