i think h&m has some in their "premium quality" products area. despite what people on here say I haven't found any issues with the "premium quality" products from h&m. their quality is on par with what you might find for maybe around twice the price point but they do lack the very fine "craftsmanship" type details you will see in very high end designer pieces, but are comparable to like wolverine 1000 mile quality, alden boots, etc.

i'd recommend anything from h&m's "premium quality" line if it fits into your wardrobe

You have no idea what you're talking about. Alden is literally the top-tier ready-to-wear boot/dress shoe company. The only way to get boots better than a pair of Aldens is to get custom made-to-measure from an independent company or an artisan.

You don't just "fall into" Alden-tier boot manufacture. It takes decades and generations of crafts knowledge and dedicated factories.

H&M would never even purchase the types of leather that Alden uses. H&M would never invest in the type of quality control and process management that Alden uses. It's antithetical to the core of their business operations. Even if they wanted to get into making Alden-tier boots or shoes, it would take them years to get it right.

I'm not even an Alden fan. If I had the money to purchase aldens I would rather spend it on a bunch of other shit. That being said, there is absolutely no fucking way "premium" h&m is anywhere close to alden, or even wolverine for that matter.

Honestly, there's plenty of stuff from H&M that's passable. I own a good many of their basic type products like shirts, button ups, sweaters, etc. But their shoes, on the contrary, are across the board complete shit and not worth your money.

Alden are the "highest tier" boot/shoemaker in the US, but the English and European shoe/bootmakers shit on Alden in every way from quality of materials, to quality control. you're fucking stupid if you think the point of my post is to stop the company from prospering. i hope it does prosper, that's the point.

the owner is the sole proprietor and operator of the company. he handles everything, and he's doing a really good job. do you know why? because his company's growth is sustainable.

someone did a count, and he's fulfilled at least 600 orders since earlier this year. that's pretty damned decent money--but it might not be enough to hire staff yet after his living expenses. that means he's still doing everything himself.

there's a reason he hasn't made his website user-friendly. he does not want to get bogged down by orders. if he gets more orders than he can handle, then the angry customer e-mails will come in by the boatload and he will spend literally all day answering e-mails and not getting work done, which will increase the likelihood that his company will implode. if the forums are any indication, he already spends a significant portion of his day answering e-mails.

it's pretty freakin' obvious what he's doing. he's taking on what business that he himself can handle until he can stash away enough to expand his operation. once he can hire on a customer-service rep or two and ensure that his factory can handle the additional production, he will likely 'go live' with his website and that shit will blow up, guaranteed, and he will make money hand over fist. the prices will also rise significantly.

this also gives him time to perfect his designs, as evidenced in the change of his toe-box to a sleeker shape. in essence, he's keeping his company in beta until he can raise the capital (through beta sales) to go live.

he's not hurting for orders. in fact, he's probably reaching his limit on what he himself can handle alone. and if it keeps growing and gets uncontrollable before he has the capital to hire staff and secure additional factory resources, then the shit will implode just like TOJ.

you know nothing.

personal preference but i think they're ugly as fuck
clunky, the silhouette is terrible. the point of chelseas is to have a slim, sleek silhouette but the docs do not achieve that. and the sole is ugly
this is all my opinion though

Blundstones are amazing. Yeah they moved a lot of there manufacturing off shore but they still make an awesome boot, I believe they still make their gumboots in Australia. In this day and age pretty much everything is manufactured else where now. Been wearing them for years and will continue to wear them for years to come.
