I generally don't wear v-necks without a tie. Crew necks are fine without them, but I just feel like a v-neck with a button-down underneath looks bare without a tie or bow-tie.

That being said, I'm almost always wearing a tie so I feel like everything looks weird without one. If I wasn't so accustomed to wearing them I'm sure I would think a v-neck looked fine without it.

You should try Brooks Brothers slim fit (can't remember the name they use for slim) Advantage Chinos.

I have a hard time finding pants that fit me well/I'm happy with without being tailored but the Brooks Brothers Clark-fit Advantage Chinos fit great on me without the need to be tailored. I'm 6'0 165-170 if that helps.

But hey, if you're into the whole skinny-fit thing that's cool. It's just not for me. I've always been about traditional, conservative, classic styles so wearing something like that has just never really interested to me. To each his own.

Holy FUCK that picture looks better. You do not appear to have short legs - in fact, it's the opposite, my initial reaction was that you had too short of a torso. Your calves really aren't all that huge - they're certainly not uber thin, but that's not something that is itself a problem.

Honestly, I suspect that your insecurity regarding your legs is leading you to make some weird proportional decisions with your outfits. Don't. Find stuff that accentuates your smaller waist (even more than in this picture) and let your proportions be what they are. It looks good.
