Some of the most fashionable universities I know of are also the stupidest, and vice versa. While there are always excellent exceptions, the vast majority of highly talented, motivated people are surprisingly awful dressers. See, e.g., MIT.

nobody in the school gives a shit about students, not admin and certainly not profs. ive had a couple grad students/TA's confide in me how they think we're getting unnecessarily difficult work and that their undergrad was much easier.

I understand that mcgill is a grinder school to make your degree "worth" something, but in the end, nobody is really going to hire you based on that (espoecially when academics alone take up so much time, i dont have time to buff up my CV with extra curriculars)

job experience is what matters in the real world. nobody cares about your expensive degree and 3.5+ gpa if you have literally zero applicable experience to whatever field you're going into.
