the only branding on it can be easily removed if the wearer desires.

essentially the point is to be the most nondescript shoe possible, but made with good materials. it's not worth its current retail price-point of $400. when it was first released it was around $250 and was basically the only shoe on the market that filled its particular niche of minimalism + materials.

now there are plenty of copycats undercutting common projects, but most of them generally fail to produce this particular combination of minimal design and good materials, which has proven wildly popular for its versatility and understated lux-quality. for example, a common-projects clone company might get the design and silhouette right, but not use as good materials and construction. or visa versa, they'll use good materials but add some stupid ass little feature or branding that totally ruins the aesthetic.
