Personal experience I share with my hairdresser:

By now you have probably come accross one of these gels. They are fairly cheap, so why not try them out.
Out of all the eco styling gels, pic related has the second best hold. The green one (olive oil) has a slightly stronger hold compared to the argan oil one, but it gives us the idea it dries out hair faster. If styled in the morning, it hardens throughout the day and transforms into a hard layer which should be rinsed out if you wish to style your hair normally the next day. Obviously that's not convenient for those who rather not wash their hair each and every day. The argan oil one seems to feed the hair, which gives it a more relatively natural and healthy feel.

Interesting enough, their leave-in products which can also be used for styling (according to theor descriptions) tend to affect my layers/curls quite negatively. Hair often looks a bit clumpy. They do make sure your hair won't dry out, use once to twice a week.

Fairly cheap, so you should try it out anyway.

They are also dependent on the status quo for their privilege and can not see that they are at risk as well. They tend to be assimilation and integrationist in nature and believe erroneously that their is any kind of resolution in a system that when functioning properly oppresses people of their race.

You have to address the immediate needs of the poor and oppressed people, and engage in dialogical analysis for and with the people, to define the phenomena we experience.
