It's getting colder outside, share your fav layer fits.

Also, what are some layering-essential?

A good cardigan. A sweater is great, but being able to open/close a knit gives you many more options.

Is there a way to layer and avoid being all disgusting and sweaty?
I feel very conscious of any sweat I get.

Wear lots of thin layers. Take them off and tie them around your waist or whatever when you get too warm.

Also, no pullovers. Having full length zippers or buttons makes it much easier to manage pieces when you need to layer up or down.

Shows how far you have to go to make that shoe work. But look at that, there's hardly a better show imaginable for the fit such as it is. Good methodology for fit construction right there, and why 99% of /fa/'s fits are easily scrolled through: they're easily reversible. A it like this though, it goes in one direction, towards a few (at most) suitable options.

I assume you mean interchangeable, as in the individual pieces?
I agree, of course.
It takes a certain developed eye to see a unique outfit that builds around more than a single piece and forms a cohesive whole.

Check out the older runway shows of Number (N)ine and Undercover. They've got the rocker and grungy side of things covered with lots of layering and a worn aesthetic.
Undercover A/W05 collection, titled Arts and Crafts, should be particularly up your alley.

Yah, right, exactly what I'm trying to say. I mean reversible in the sense that there's many possible directions they can take, but none that actually develop the fit in any way. Whereas I look at this and I see that there is no other path this fit could take. It has full confidence in its coordinations and, moreover, it's completely correct. It just has a lot of force behind it. It has flow, but in a more developed way of not only cohesion, but also flowing purely forward--if that makes sense. I don't mean to gush, tbh I need to be writing an essay right now so I'm trying to work up the spirit to do so by doing some extended commentary.

I should really just start buying soloist pieces. For all the comings and goings of Japanese streetwear, he's one of the few that's been remarkably left almost completely singular in his style. I can't think of any labels that do the sort of ensembles he does, and this after some many years of designing, you'd think there'd be a lot of smaller brands trying to cash in on the look and cheapen it, but he has remained so untouched even today.

Are you high right now? Haha. I feel you though. The layering is on point. The large silhouette of the coat is balanced by the oversized shoe sole and the broken taper provided by the shorts/leggings combo. The color palette is also executed well.

Yep. I love his aesthetic. I don't think I could pull it off though. You gotta be some artsy designer person to rock all the eccentricities of his fits. It's another look that I can only see working on a Japanese person as well because they're already known for other outlandish fashion like Shibuya/Harajuku street styles.

1. Indigenous peoples have been doing insane layering in ceremonies and among their elite for millenia 2. Probably not even "cool" as I think you imagine it. 3. Don't shoehorn this into the closest related image you can think of when it doesn't really match it at all.
