Helmut Lang
He defined '90's urban cool with subtle yet groundbreaking takes on classic pieces.

He's largely responsible for the resurgence of denim jackets in popular culture.
His minimalist branding and attention to detail have influenced nearly every menswear designer since and changed the notion of what luxury can be.
He singlehandedly changed the fashion world by holding his 1999 show before everyone else, thereby sparking the move of New York Fashion Week from last to first of the big three.
People still rip off his designs to this day.

idk like I like lang too but Ive never touched one of his pieces so I'm hesitant to ever call him my favorite. In addition you made a list of points from an article that largely point to his commercial success rather than your own personal connection to his clothes, which is a big part of designing clothes (they fucking get worn). Or even looked at his shows and felt a deep personal connection to his ideas. Not hating cus he is goat and maybe you own every one of his pieces but your post didnt really give me that impression.

I've tried some of his ready to wear stuff myself just for the sole reason that I love him but I can't afford any of his edgier runway pieces. I got one of his shirts, and a sweater aswell as some black fleece stuff. Even then it cost me a fking arm and a leg to get them. Even though they seem pretty bland on his online store once you put them on you get why his shit costs that much. Idk how to really explain his sort of idk, dishevelled menswear vibe but it's really something you can't find anywhere else and you can pretty much work his stuff into anything.

I know very well who the 6 are, I've read a good deal about them and even more about them as individuals.
