Maybe it's the lighting but your scalp and the hair closest to it look a bit greasy. If you feel this is true try finding a shampoo that works on your hair (and use it when you feel you need it, not everyday).

Other than that I think is fine. It looks messy but I like it, brush it if you don't. Maybe go for a haircut to give it a specific shape~ You can do so many things to hair.

Hey, guys, I need someone's speculation about some dumb shit.

Junior year (about 6 years ago), my hair was pretty damn long, but it looked absolutely ridiculous (pic related, and this wasn't even at its longest). Granted, this was before I knew how to properly take care of it. I would shampoo everyday in scalding hot water, using WAY too much shampoo in the process, blow drying it, no product, etc, etc. Everything I shouldn't do, basically. Now that I know how to take care of it, I wanna grow it out again, but I'm afraid it might end up looking the same. What do you guys think?

About 18 months ish maybe longer its kinda harder to keep track but less than 2 years. I straightened a piece earlier to see actual length since it curls up its about at my collarbone.

Top knot isnt a bad way to go while it grows, my hair grew out wonky cause of layers so it took me a lot longer to be able to top knot so i didnt bother. If thats you in the photo doesnt look like awkward, prolly psyching yourself out bud. Could look into a headband while working in the gym to keep it out of your face.
